Sunset MAXIMA 600M 12LB CHAMELEON Brown

Maxima has been the benchmark for good-value monofilament line for me and my fishing companions for years. Casts clean, doesn't pick up kinks as quickly as some softer lines, and seems quite resistant to routine damage (stones, yanking lures out of tree/opposite bank, etc.) Delivered very quickly, just in time for me to keel-haul a ten-pound salmon around a tiny, snag-ridden pool with confidence. We landed it, too.

Despite purchasing the 12lb and being sent 15lb line, I have used it all this year (2012).15lb line needs a larger spool. 4000 too small. 6000 works fine.I have used other strength maxima lines. All with great success as a main line.Pros.Good knot strength and does not easily burn if tied dry.Good abrasion resistant.Good stretch.Good camouflage in coloured water. Not tried it in clear water.Sinks easily but can be used for surface fishing.Cons.Some memory. If not used for a while, it will remain helical shape when cast.Worse in colder weather.Not a good hook link for this reason. I use a coated braid.Have tried other makes, some more expensive.Overall a better balance and I feel a stronger line for the rating than others I tried of same rating.Worth buying the 600m spool as it is cheaper, and you will be buying more.It means you can correctly (fully) load your spool.I also use it to make ledger leader rigs using tungsten tube, swivels and a safety clip.
