My insurance company required me to install a water shutoff system to renew my home insurance policy and recommended either the Moen or YoLink system. I chose the YoLink All-in-One Ultrasonic Water Meter because it was much more affordable, and I'm so glad I did! A plumber helped me install it, and the setup was very easy. I love that it doesn’t require an external power supply—the built-in battery is said to last over 10 years.This product not only meets my insurance company’s requirements but also provides me with detailed water usage data, showing how much water I use each time, as well as daily and monthly totals. I can even set maximum water usage and running time to prevent leaks. Now, I don’t have to worry about water damage anymore. It's a great product, and I can control my entire house’s water supply from anywhere using my phone. Highly recommend!

I already have a YoLink shut off device installed on my main house line, and a separate smart water meter device, but if this new Flowsmart device had been available I could just have used this all in one device! Anyway, I bought this one to install on the line that feeds my swimming pool. Now, not only do I know exactly how much water my pool consumes, I can control that from the mobile app.One of the reasons I got into YoLink was that their devices don't rely on wifi, instead they use LoRa, a long range and low power protocol that means that the battery consumption is miniscule, and you their devices will work all over your house and yard, where wifi typically has black spots. Yes, you do need a YoLink hub but you only need one of those, and then you can connect as many YoLink devices as you need.I'm up at 42 different YoLink devices now. I hope that tells you how good their products are and how happy I am with them. Most of those are leak detectors, all over my house, under sinks and behind toilets. Yes, this exactly cheap, but the damage and disruption and expense of a water leak in your home can cause tens of thousands of dollars of damage. I've spent less than my insurance excess and it's money well spent for peace of mind.Anyway, the Flowsmart is the typical, high quality hardware that you expect from YoLink, and in their mobile app you have a million different ways to control the device. You can set schedules, countdown timers, set alerts on consumption or duration, and of course pair it up with leak detectors to automate shut off in the event of any water leak being detected.Really the only downside of this device is you need to do some plumbing to install it. In my case I connected it to a PVC line outside, but I could have hired a plumber. Depending on how your pipes are configured it's no more than 1 or 2 hours work. If DIY or hiring a pro is not something you want to do, YoLink has other shut off devices that can be installed by anyone in about 20 minutes with no plumbing required. The thing that you won't get with those though is they don't include water meter capability.I mentioned that I already had a separate water metering device, so I compared the usage recorded from the Flowsmart to the usage recorded on the whole house meter and the numbers were very close, just 1% to 2% difference between them.The fact you get both a shut off device, and a water meter all in one for around $250 is incredible. I happily recommend YoLink products without hesitation.

I really love all Yolink products. They are slowly taking over my home. This meter is helping me already. I can monitor the water flow and know when something is using too much water. An example is my reverse osmosis unit sometimes does not turn off as it should . I am alerted to the problem and can turn off the water supply from my phone and then turn it back on in a couple minutes. It is actually very acurate on the amount of water going through it. It took me only about 10 minutes to install it. That will not be the case for everyone, but most should be able to get through it without help. I am a SUPER fan of Yolink.

Produce arrived in a previously opened package. Electronics were rattling about like maracas inside the housing. Obviously a broken and returned unit just reshipped to the next buyer.

For the price this is a no brainer. Install is quick and the setup with the app is easy. The D2D capability is great since that means it can function even during a power outage. I do wish it came with a weather proof adapter suitable for outdoor use and also showed flow rate but other than that it a great buy.
