EVERYTHING WRONG W/THIS
so much wrong. its expensive. worked ok for two weeks but then it ceased to help me fall asleep. i think your brain gets used to it. then, 4 months later, it stopped working. After charging it fully (it was powered off), and a few hours later turned on again to use, and no charge! the lithium ion battery cant be replaced, the company has short and strict warranty rules and they know the battery has to be replaced eventually so theyre knowingly ripping people off. you cant open it. the worst part? its fabric and you cannot wash it. they should have thought about that. it gets disgusting and smelly after a while even if your the cleanest person in the world. imagine never neing able to change your pillowcase or wash your hair. its just not realistic and they need to develop it much more before releasing on market. forget this, get the fisher wallace stimulator instead!

May be a good product but not for me.
I read every review of this product. Some were critical others were wonderful. I have not slept well in so long that I was willing to try anything, especially with the assurance of Amazon Prime and free returns. I am having to return the hat because it is simply too small, even though I ordered the largest size. Granted, I have a large head (hat size 7 5/8) but not that large. I tried adjusting the position for a more comfortable fit. I was never able to place the speakers over my ears. The hat was so tight that it gave me a headache within minutes. Needless to say, the hat did not help my sleep. The sound produced by the speakers was higher pitched than I expected, but not annoying. This product may work well if your head is of average size or smaller. My recommendation is to give it a try but order a larger size than you think you need. Good luck. I know that you need some sleep or you would not be reading this.

Zzzzzzzzzz through the night.
I actually purchased a Sleep Shepherd through the Kickstarter campaign and I have been sleeping in it for about a month.I have a long (years) history of irregular sleeping patterns….waking up after a few hours of sleep and not being able to get back to sleep.First night I wore the hat I was not sure what to expect. Initially I had a question regarding what the volume setting should be. Mostly by trial and error I arrived at low but audible level. If I do awaken now, I listen for the hum, and if it’s there, I can doze off. If I awakened and didn't hear the sleep cap sound, it was easy to restart just by moving my head as described in the brochure. What I have found when I sleep in the cap is that I dream a lot more. I interpret that as getting to a deeper level of sleep more often. I was waking up very frequently and not getting back to sleep, so maybe with the hat I was getting more REM sleep.I have been able to sleep through the night until early morning instead of either reawakening every couple of hours then dozing off, or lying in bed tossing the remainder of the night. I really haven't had episodes where I couldn't get back to sleep and would give up and listen to the radio. This is really cutting into my CoastToCoastAM radio time (the midnight to 4 a.m. show about aliens and conspiracy theories)! Sorry, George Noory. The sleep hat effect is not equivalent to a drug-induced sleep. You won’t sleep through your sleep partner coughing or tossing. You won’t sleep through your granddaughter crying in the next room during a sleep-over. If you are really distressed about something, the Sleep Shepherd may not give you blissful sleep. But….if you don’t have external environmental distractions, if you’re like me, you may get a long, uninterrupted night’s sleep.Hat is very comfortable to wear. There is a blue LED light on the top of the hat that glows when the hat turned on. The wearer doesn’t see the light, but my daughter-in-law complained that her sleep was disturbed by my son’s cap. The worst problem I’ve had with the Sleep Shepherd…..’hat hair’ in the morning. You sort of have to shower and do you hair, or put it up.The hat needs charging every day (as stated in the literature). I tried not charging it one day because the charge indicator light was still lit in the morning suggesting it was adequate, but it didn’t make it through the next night. So, it’s taken a period of adjustment, but my sleep is longer and uninterrupted much more frequently that it’s been for years.

I love this thing!
I really like this hat. It is very comfortable to wear, does not make your head to hot at night, the material is soft and breathes easy. The headphones in it are comfortable and moveable to fit right over your ears. Very comfortable.Since using the hat, i have gotton a much better sleep at night. I find i dream more (which i love) and wake up more refreshed than without sleeping with it. You can adjust the volume to cancel out surrounding noise as well like a snoring wife (sorry honey!). I really enjoy the hat and it is very comfy and works great!

Good but not great.
Didn't seem to help with getting to sleep but my wife thinks I sleep more quietly. A chin strap might help keep it in place.

Hat vs pills? Hat wins!
I've had issue getting to sleep forever. Since I erroneously happened upon a page for the sleep shepherd, I was interested in giving it a shot; I've tried everything else to no avail.Though it takes some getting used to if you've never slept with anything on your head, it absolutely works. Either that or it's such a good placebo that I don't know the difference, and I don't care. I'm sleeping! I awake feeling well rested! I'm happy with my product!

High pitch tones were annoying - It did not help me relax to sleep.

Doesn't do what it claims to do. Doesn't track your brain rhythms, just your movement.
