Great Doobies record
The Doobie Brothers seem to be enjoying making music these days and are still on great form. It's fresh and vibrant with lots of sonic interest to catch the ear and bring the listener back to see what was missed before. The vocal harmonies are sharp and tasteful and the guitar playing is slick and graceful. For those who care, the tracking engineer has done a wonderful job on this, bringing our the clarity of all the I nstruments and voices. And the mixing engineer complements the basic tracking with some great work. Everything gets a sonic space without dominating. It's not an easy trick to pull off.All in all, a collection of great songs from a wonderful band, complemented by a top engineering job.

An extremely well balanced album
This is possibly my favourite Doobies album. The programme mixes the usual DB rock with some really memorable ballads. The harmonies are quite splendid as is the musicianship. In my view there is not bad track on this CD. It is almost that the band has, like fine wine, matured with age.

FABULOUS!!
This was Keith Knudsen last album with the Doobies and as far as I can make out his input here was quite impressive since some of the main vocals sound as though they could be his along with writing credits. Some wonderful songs here and production. It's been one of those albums I return to time and time again. It is also a little different from other Doobies albums, but never the less highly recommended.

SLICk,PROFESSIONAL AND RATHER DULL!
Being a long time doobie's fan from the first album and having my appetite wetted from the two tracks on the excellant 'wolf trap' dvd i really had high hopes for this after the 'brotherhood' catastrophe. Starts off great'people gotta live' is another great Tom Johnson number and then it goes downhill rapidly. I mean it's not bad in a slick radio friendly type way but the polite production takes all the rawness away and Pat Simmonds, usually a top notch writer only gets a couple of credits and they're pretty sub standard. The band really need to get out and rock again instead of these slow (very slow at times)songs that could be just about anyone and why bring in outside writers? after ten years you'd think they'd have a stockpile of songs for the taking. I really wanted to like it and its not bad, but stick to the 'wolf trap' c.d and dvd if you want the band at their peak. Oh and how about doing a Zappa and issuing the 'long strange trip' bootleg from the seventies with all the stuff that never appeared on any album?
