The premium quality canvases are prepared with three applications of premium-quality, acid-free acrylic gesso and have a weight of 380 g/m². This finely structured surface enhances the dye uptake and prevents the paint from shedding after time. The cotton cloth is stretched and stapled to the back of a sturdy wooden frame allowing the artist to paint over the edge. The Artina canvases corners are folded and the selvage is uncut. The frame is dimensionally stable, will stay in shape and won't warp.
