Update 4June2018.Dragon Lights customer service has been absolutely fantastic. Yes the fan went bad quickly but Dragon light was instantaneously on the ball sending a refund and replacement. Because of their absolute customer care I am increasing 2 stars. Dragon Light went as far as writing a hand written note, replacement shipped from China within a business week over a holiday nonetheless. Honestly there is not much else I could ask for from a conspicuous consumer. Had two of these lights in my garage for less than 2 working hours and the fan one of them is buzzing horribly. Even though it’s in the garage the sound getting into the car everyday is annoying. Also my mini workshop is in there and I need some quiet once in a while. Furthermore if the fan bearings (I assume) are already out of alignment, what’s that have to say about the longevity of these?I am adding a video for others to see, I recorded this after only having the bulbs on for about 10 seconds. Just enough time to open my phone and record. Very disappointed.

The bulbs does precisely what needs to be done with a low profile. Given the fixtures we're working with, we needed a shorter/compact bulb. This one does the trick. As others have mentioned, there's a mild whirring sound while the bulb is on ... which is a cooling fan in the bulb to help dissipate the heat generated by the device. It's a good trade-off for the low profile, though. And most people don't notice the whirring until it's pointed out to them.

Love the brilliance and the low electrical consumption. Completely re-writing my review to reflect how impressed I am with the quality and speed of customer service from the vendor, who answered my contact email in just minutes, explained aspects of high-powered LEDs that I encountered with a non-ventilated, inverted socket, 60yr old fixture in very hot Texas. I promptly bought additional LEDs from them. VERY nice to experience such good service.

We got this as a replacement yard light and it works great, comes with different socket sizes and is warm light. Great light.

Appear to have the rated lumen output. Comes with a large Mogul adaptor. So far, so good. I think these are a good value for a LED bulb. 3000K color temperature does not have the bluish glare of the 5000K units and is easier on the eyes in my opinion.

Love this light. It’s bright as hell. And you can see it for a few blocks on the street.

I wish I could like this bulb, but I’m disappointed in it. The fan in the bulb doesn’t work and a section of the LEDs shuts off and on at random. So sometimes it’s nice and bright (output is really nice when it’s working), and sometimes some of the LEDs shuts off and produces a dim light. But then after a while it will turn back on to full brightness, then off again, then on again... Ugh. I only used it for 10 min straight out of the box and I get these issues. I’m going to look elsewhere to find a more reliable bulb.

About three years ago I bought a 250 watt equivalent CFL bulb for my garage and it served me well. Now that LED bulbs are available I wanted more light and bought this 500 watt equivalent unit. It is just what I'd hoped for. It certainly lights up the garage and is almost too bright to look at directly. The little fan does have low level sound but not enough to complain about considering the increase in light this bulb provides. The only reason I did not give it a five star rating is that I have only had it three weeks and I don't know what the long-term life might be.I would heartily recommend it.

This was bought to go into an outdoor light fitting that’s on a gatepost. As we live out in the country and there’s no street lighting, this is ideal for us. It illuminates the area around the outside of the gate really well and quite a bit of our driveway. You can hear the fan if yiy stand close to it, not recommended for indoor use or outdoor if you’re going to sit near it. Other than that, it’s been running a few weeks now and it’s doing the job really well. Recommended.

Very bright but make sure you measure its height before fitting in an enclosure

Pretty awesome lights for the garage, definitely get the 50w. The built in fans are loud, wouldn’t recommend for in the house.

Excellent bright instant on light that’s warmer in colour resembling an incandescent bulb with a fraction of the power draw.

First, the good. I was looking for a relatively warm LED corn lamp and the floor temperature of these is very nice. I would like even warmer like 2700k but these were not available.The bad: The fans in 2 out of the 4 of these that I bought are noisy. I have them in a quiet shop area and I can hear an annoying buzzing from the fans. I knew these had fans but I thought they would be nearly silent like a laptop computer fan. Think I'm going to have to return them. I'm going to give them a couple of days to see if they quiet down.

I used this to replace one of the worklights in our theatre, and so far, it's been amazing. The only critique I would have is that the cooling fan creates an quiet (but audible) whine when it's on, but I consider that a fair trade for a lamp this bright that creates no heat and uses a tenth as much power as what it replaced. Would purchase again.

Replaced the mercury vapour bulb in my outdoor shed light and we like the lighting much better. Uses a lot less power as well

Great lights use them on outside lighting around my shop. nice warm light not the irritating glaring light so many of them are

Very disappointed with the product, only lasted two days. Now it just flicker on half of the bulb and the other half is completely dead.

Not really having a bulb this bright previously it’s difficult to compare but it’s most certainly bright. My only faux pas was that as it so powerful it has a internal fan to cool it which excludes fully enclosed lighting units. Mine is enclosed but only on a occasionally used PIR limited to 1min, fingers crossed
