The time for sketching has come. The days grow shorter, the garden in harvest mode, and in a new place. It's time to record some visuals. The face of the college student who walks by the donut shop daily. The leaves of the tree I notice in the distance and then imagine what the bottom half might be. All that new sensory information piling in my head needs to be put to paper and ideas used later in an oil painting. The size of the sketchbooks is extremely handy. No large white blank space saying fill me, fill me when all I want is an area to move the pencil around to take the sensory picture down the arm to a visual one on the pad. Spiral binding at the top I like. Move it up and over. Rigid front and back, so automatic portable desk whether in the vehicle, on the porch, or on a bench. Paper allows blending with a stomp or finger to get some shading in. Paper is not delicate, so I can take some bumps and pressure pencil it when tense and need to scribble chaos. Look in the chaos and find the order, the picture of some part of a masterpiece that spills out, and then outline that. It makes you look grand and gets the perfection out of the way.

These spiral bound sketch books are the perfect size to keep in my truck when traveling and to pull out when I need to take a break from driving. What a great deal for two of them!

I always look for good sketch pads to take with me on the road or keep in person. I like the small ones, which are exactly this size, as they make drawing much easier than having a giant sketchbook with you. The paper quality is smooth, and I’m very impressed with how the pencil strokes look on the go. It’s really strong as well. Trying to rip it out of the book is a little challenging, which, in a sense, is excellent. For the price, this is a superb sketchpad pack for any artist beginning or advancing.

This is a great quality sketch pad; rivals any I get from local art stores. The size is great for me as I learn a new style of drawing, and it's easy to take with me anywhere. Very satisfied

I just got these books and they were much smaller than expected. I found most of my sketches were not fitting on the page right and it was not comfortable to use with no room to rest my hand. This is one of those items that are meant for a niche crowd and purpose. I draw comic style art so this was just too small for me to make the things I usually draw.The quality is great though and for 2 books the price is nice but this just was not what I needed.

I love the size of this notebook, and I ADORE the spiral binding. I wish all my notebooks were spiral bound. The paper is good quality, too. All in all, a great little sketching notebook!

Nice little sketchbooks that are the perfect size for my 5 and 4 year old homeschooling daughters. My left handed 5 year old really loves the the top binding as it’s much easier for her. These are a great size for younger kids as it makes it easier for them take on the go. Paper thickness wasn’t super thick but what I would expect from a drawing sketchbook they work well for drawing materials like colored pencils & pastels. Don’t work great for watercolors if using too much water.
