Tight
Works but very tight inside differential. Better than plastic gears though

Best upgrade you can do
These gears are great and everyone should do this upgrade immediately. I did not buy the WLToys buggy to drive it slow. So within the first week of high-abuse bashing I had stripped out the stock nylon gears. I purchased this kit and LOVE IT. Its a simple fix with huge payoff. Installation is pretty much the reverse of disassembly. Its quite simple but do note the following. --- be very careful of all the tiny shafts and retaining pins, especially when disassembling the rear diff (if you drop them on carpet you might never find them). --- definitely apply Loctite to the screws that run into the drive shaft couplings. --- be mindful of the orientation of the big gear during disassembly. It will only work correctly facing one direction --- pack the differential housing with grease before reassembly --- these gears did seem slightly larger than the stock gears. Its not an issue but they'll rub slightly against is the plastic differential case. So you just need to skip the last quarter turn on the screws that hold the differential housing together. This leaves just the tiny bit of clearance you need but doesn't hurt anything. ---when doing the front diff, take a minute to clarify which screws/components you need to take off and which you don't. It will seem like you need to remove more than you actually do. Look closer than I did and you can save yourself a lot of wasted effort. With all of this done (30 minutes or so), the buggy is noticeably more responsive and faster. You can hear the difference in the sound of the car when throttling. You cut the wheels loose easier for drifting on leaves or wet pavement, and on dry pavement you can pop wheelies effortlessly. Its full on awesome and I get the impression these are the last gears I'll need to buy. You should buy them too and unleash the full potential of this super fun buggy.

Great for the price, works very well.
Put these on my WLToys 12428 truck. Works great so far. Had a time trying to get the gear mesh set right as the truck itself didn't allow for a lot of adjustment. But for the price can't complain.

Easy Repair, Saves Money and time
Purchased to repair stripped gears in my WLToys 144001 differential. If you have mechanical skills, it’s an easy repair. You will need Loctite for the screws and differential grease as the manufacturer only dabs a little grease on a couple gears. You will be surprised at how smooth and quiet it runs with a greased differential.

Good for the 144001
The media could not be loaded. These are a must have if you are an enthusiast of the RC world but you only buy WL Toys🤣👍, the video is of mostly my a979 but u can see the 144001, I didn’t get footage of the diff repair, BUT they worked GREAT!!!!

Not for wltoys 12428!
These are meshed entirely too tight for the 12428. Car won't even roll now. I had to leave the screws on the rear axle housing loose just to get the car to move, leaving a gap along the bottom. Now I can't drive it off road, as it was intended for. Dirt and water will surely get into the axle now.

Fit the 144001 perfectly
Installed them into a 144001 after grinding down the stock gears. It was easy to do and I packed the differential with generic grease while I had it apart. I've only gone through 3 batteries worth of abuse, but it works like new again.

Seem well made
Fits perfectly. Better than I expected. Helpful tip: the screws holding the gears on the stock axle are held on with thread lock. To get the screws out, hold the axle with plyers, and heat up the axle shaft with a lighter before attempting to unscrew the old gears. They will come right out.
