I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this ricer. I was skeptical at first (as I consider myself an expert on mashed potatoes), but this was perfect. I will never use my hand held masher (or mixer) again to make mashed potatoes. The texture of the mashed potatoes was the smoothest I have even gotten. It was easy to use but you will need to make sure that you cut larger pieces when boiling potatoes, as that makes it easier to transfer into the ricer. There were zero clumps and the texture was SMOOTH!!! If you’re like me and you read every review, know that I’m the same and I have used this masher on multiple occasions. It holds up nicely and is really easy to clean. Now, it is a bulky item so you will need a deeper drawer in which to store it between uses.

I bought this Ricer to make my mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving, but I love it so much I use it everytime to make mashed potatoes! I also riced my sweet potatoes and they were velvety smooth and light as a mousse! The handle is long and easy to press even with a full receptacle of potato. It's AMAZING what a difference it makes in my mashed potatoes texture! Easy to clean too, I just wash in warm soapy water and let it dry. Diswasher safe as well! This ricer is PERFECT!! So happy with it and so affordable!

Bought this potato ricer because I found in a Google search and it was ranked in top 5. So I ordered it and just received the unit and seems like good quality. I gave this a four star rating because it says made in Italy on Amazon but the bottom of box says Made in China. I think you really need to come clean and say it's made in China. Probably should have gone three star because of that but it does seem like a nice product. Drives me crazy when we are mislead on where these products are made.

I bought another one about six months. To me is looked very substantial, had good reviews but had a strong plastic part to it. Well, don't get one with any plastic parts. It broke when I applied obviously to much pressure. This one is the real deal, love it ! So far I have used it for mashed potatoes and cauliflower, which is a little more difficult to rice. Came out perfect. The only disappointment was I thought from the name it must be from Italy but it's from China.

For the price, it was mostly functional. We noticed a defect in the press that caused two problem:1. The press came flush to the grate only about 25%, so it didn't push out all of the potatoes.2. The because the press was uneven, some of the potatoes came up the side as we used the press.We decided not to reorder the same ricer because we didn't trust the manufacturer due to other people saying there were problems with theirs.

I bought this ricer specifically for mashed potatoes. I live in an apartment with limited cabinet space, and it didn’t make sense to get a food mill for the amount of money they are and the lack of space I have.I have to admit, having never bought a product from Vita Saggia, I was a little wary. The package arrived on time, and I was very impressed with the quality of the ricer.It is made of stainless steel and is of an intelligent design. It is easy to clean and makes mashed potatoes SO much better than a potato masher. I mean seriously, the difference is crazy! So smooth, no lumps, just the kind of mashed spuds you want to cozy up with some gravy!I was worried about how easy it would be to clean, but it’s a breeze. Definitely worth the purchase if you are into perfectly mashed potatoes!
