Obsidian is formed as lava from volcanic eruptions cools within the earth and submerged in water so quickly. It doesn't have time to crystallize resulting in volcanic glass. In the Middle Ages it was thought to ward off demons. Hence it is often used as a grounding stone.A stone of Honesty, Sincerity and Truth. Obsidian can evoke the Warrior spirit in you. It helps to reach into your subconsciousness, reclaim yourself and realize the forgotten abilities deep within yourself. Obsidian can give us insights into what would be necessary to make change. It impels us to grow while still lending support. It can shield you from affecting by malignant energies and also help keep your thoughts positive. If you feel your growth has stagnated and hope for a jolt to get yourself moving again. Obsidian is simply the best stone.

looks like real obsidian
i looked for many like it but first thing i was looked for if it was real obsidian. real obsidian has weight to it and this one does for its size and something you wear around your neck, because obsidian is glass so it's extremely easy to fake & hard to tell the difference between colored glass and real obsidian unless you have that kind of experience, and real obsidian does have some imperfections and bubbles just because the way the volcanic glass is formed. this one i bought does have some blemishes so in my opinion, thats a good sign. if you see this pendant all shiny, smooth, clean cut and lightweight then more likely is just plain glass colored black.
