They work great for us.
I rarely write reviews if I'm happy with a product. Lazy, but that's me. But I was looking at ordering one for my sister as a gift and saw all the negative reviews. I just don't see these problems. I guess sometimes people get one with a faulty battery or some other factory build problem and they review while the satisfied customers don't. And I've found that with a lot of things I purchase many negative reviews come because people don't read the instructions. Like in this case using the right "bait", Lurex or Octenol, depending on what part of the country you live in, putting it in the right location, or not realizing that there is a timer that shuts it off (if you set it right) for up to four hours during the parts of the day and night when the mosquitoes aren't active. Anyway, everyone in my family has one, they are very effective (I catch hundreds of mosquitoes in a week when we've had a rainy spell)-- my yard stays basically mosquito free, and the battery lasts for months. One full propane tank lasts 3-4 weeks depending on how many hours a day you run it. It's expensive, but since we had one family member almost die from West Nile Viral Encephalitis, (coma, hospital for a couple of months, rehab for a year) worth every penny of it to us. Again though it works best if you keep it running for at least the minimum time everyday and give it a week or two to clear out the mosquitoes in your neighbors' yards too.

Company does not stand behind their products anymore.
I have been using these several of these units for 15 seasons. When they run, they can catch a lot of mosquitos and make your backyard livable. Because of this I mostly forgave the finicky and unreliable nature of the units. However, I recently bought a new unit from another local merchant. I have tried for the past month to get it to start and stay running, even after substantial effort and troubleshooting on my end (using battery and propane tanks that work on my other unit) and calls into their support. At this point their customer support says I need to get warranty service from a 3rd party, here's a list of servicers, good luck! The first one I called on the list said they do not do warranty service because the company won't pay them for their time!!!!. The Mosquito Magnet company doesn't even have its own service center anymore, so you are left calling a random list of companies to see if one can help, and reexplaining the whole problem yet again. In the past I have had both warranty and non-warranty service performed directly by the company's factory. Apparently, they changed their "policy" last September and no longer offer factory service. In my mind they don't really want to sell this product anymore and I'm just a sucker buying out their remaining inventory. My local retailer is trying to help get a refund, and I have no intentions are supporting this company or product with any of my business in the future.

Keeps the mosquitos away!
We’ve been using got a couple of weeks and have seen a definite reduction in mosquitos. Also we see the little bugs in the net, so we know it is working. It is expensive but worth it. We opted for the battery version without electric cord so we could place it anywhere in the yard. It holds a good charge and is easy to recharge. It was easy to put together . It does take up space and is hard to hide but we put close to trees and bushes so that helps mask it. Very quietWorth it!

Good and bad
So this thing uses some propane for sure I have it hooked up to a 40lb tank and I've filled it twice this year. Battery life has been great honestly. I've charged it twice, once initially per instructions and once to top it off because it was out of propane for a little bit and it charges while it runs. I've filled it once almost fully with mosquitoes and cleaned it out and there's some more in there again the next day. Now for the bad....Bad:Propane usage, 40lb tank does not fit comfortably on it. Expensive, for the money there's other options. Used to just spray myself before going out. There's spraying services, dunks, other bug catchers with lures. There's some bugs and moisture getting into the screen area. The bait does not fit well into the designated spot. There's still mosquitoes flying around outside, although this thing can only kill so many. Maybe they will go down with continuing breeding cycles. I've got three different bug killers with lures going including this one. It initially didn't catch many mosquitoes and I moved it to where they swarm and that helped a lot. I turned off the fuel saving modes, I'd rather have less mosquitoes. Next investment is going to be into plants to put in areas people are.

Very expensive but very effective
Works very well but at a very steep price. This seller's prices are reasonable when compared to others. This drastically cut down the mosquito population on my property.
