Actually Getting My 4-Year-Old to Read!
We decided to try something different for bedtime. Instead of our usual storybooks, we've been pulling out these Bob Books. Our daughter is four and just starting to get the idea of letters making sounds, and these have been a good fit.At first, I wasn't sure if they'd hold attention, being so simple. But that's kind of their magic. The first book was straightforward with just a few letters, and few words. My kid actually read it, with help! That little victory was huge. From there, each little book adds a bit more, but not too much at once, which has been key. It’s been neat watching the gears turn as she sound things out. These really seem to click for that stage where they're just beginning to blend sounds together. We’re not experts or anything, but it feels like we’re on the right track with these.Pros:They start off really easy, which meant my child felt like a reader almost instantly.New words come in slowly, so it’s not like hitting a wall.If your kid is at that "sounding-it-out" point, these seem to match up well. The boost in confidence from finishing a whole book (even a tiny one) is pretty great to see.Cons:Don't expect epic tales – the stories are as basic as the words, which is necessary but not thrilling for the adult reader! The pictures are very plain; if your child needs bright, busy illustrations to stay engaged, these might be a harder sell.Just thought I'd share what's working for us, in case anyone else is in the same boat with a beginner reader!

From Curious Toddler to Lifelong Reader!!
These tiny books for tiny ppl are the ABSOLUTE BEST to encourage young readers! With simple line illustrations & single words, they grab the attention of curious toddlers in a way that is playful, engaging and rewarding. The child I babysit learned to read at AGE 3 1/2 by using these books and had mastered them by 4 yrs old!! He adored the silly content and bright colours splashed into the black & white drawings and we’d practice spelling the colours as we went along in the story as well (even though it wasn’t part of a given book).I’m amazed at his progress! Now he’s 6 yrs old and LOVES to read— he’ll even read books w/o pictures! Although he still prefers books that have some sort of pictorial storytelling, I’m so impressed that he CAN & WILL read non-graphic books & I credit Bob’s work Books with giving him the head start he required to become a (hopefully) lifelong lover of reading! You will not be disappointed should you choose to share these books with a child in your life. I now buy them for EVERY TODDLER I come in contact with through my friends & family, and they each report back happily. 🩷🌈☀️

Great books.
These books are great. I have a kid who struggles and he's been doing good with these. We are almost ready to move up to the next level. I recommend these books to help your little struggling reader.

Great quality
The outer box is the only difference (hardback) the books are the same. As usual high quality great stuff. Can save by opting for the paperback version

Paper back
The media could not be loaded. Hardcover is a little misleading their paperback, but still very happy

Really helpful for starting to read
My son is 5 and we started these books and he is doing so well with them. They’re short and very easy for them to learn. He picked up on them fast. I am so proud of him. Every-time he reads I get so excited. We have only gotten to number 3 so far just because I like to keep doing the same one for awhile to make sure he actually gets it and learns it. But after the first one he wanted to try number 2 and he got that one right away and wanted 3. I’m very impressed. A very great tool. I am starting homeschool with him this fall and it’s just given me a lot of confidence myself to do things like this with him.
