Value for money basic tripod.
Bought it i few weeks ago. Used it this weekend. I also bought a much more expensive tripod at the same time. I needed both this weekend so although I can not say anything about the long term use i will give this a first impressions review. The bag it came in was of much better quality than the other tripod at just over twice the price of this tripod. Reasonable material and a proper zip. It appears well made and the seams look good. The other one thin plastic bag with drawstring.I understand why people are commenting that this is a lightweight and maybe flimsy tripod but it tells you the weight in the specs just over 600g. So I don't understand why these people think that the tripod should be heavier than it is. Yes it is lightweight and as such I would not be putting £500. cameras on it without securing it with either weights or attach ties. If your equipment is of that value then why are you looking at an Amazon basics item. Then being upset that it doesn't perform like a mid to top range tripod. It did everything I wanted. It was reasonably robust it is perfectly strong enough to support a reasonable camcorder or camera. Yes the legs are fine and I wouldn't want to be using it in high winds without securing it. But again I say in my opinion for the money it is a good buy and time will tell. I have in the past broken very expensive tripods.Stability and stiffness I did not give full marks for as it is not the best tripod ever but in its price range I doubt you could beat it. And this one at Amazon's price is in my opinion a very good buy. For those reasons I would recommend this tripod.I have paid a lot more for a much poorer quality tripod. It seems a good basic piece of kit.

Wonderful
I bought this years ago, along with a tripod-to-smartphone attachment purchased separately, and it's still going strong. It's a really great size, never letting me down, coming up to the chest of a six foot-tall person standing. In the lockdown age, it's had a second life as a smartphone stand for video calls, as I can easily place it on my desk with the extending legs reduced to their minimum length. The handles and adjustments on this allow for some videography (pans and such) if you wish, but there's little-to-no smoothing. To hold a smartphone, though, it's really great. Light, so easily portable, with a lot of nice features and adjustments, plenty ergonomic, the bag has a tiny bit of space around the tripod in which you can fit a couple of smaller attachments to carry together, though not so much space that the tripod alone doesn't fit nice and flush. And all these years later, it's just as sturdy, the clasps holding just as strong, nothing bent, nothing sticking, nothing snapped. This is very highly recommended and a good thing to just have for even occasional usage. It was also a bit of a gamble that paid off as it was the lowest price I could find anywhere for a comparable product. I'm yet to meet tripods in this class and price range that are anywhere near as decent as this.

It gets the job done
So, I've had this item for a few months now so I've had more than enough time to mess about with it and just see how I get on with it, and overall I'm happy with it, and it gets the job done.If you are buying this expecting to get the best tripod, I would look else where because with this Tripod you get what you pay for, and it will do what you want it to do for the most part. I've found that if you are trying to move the tripod head around it is very jerky, which is a shame but if you want something that is really smooth you really do need to be spending a lot more money (I would recommend one, but I don't have experience with any) and it doesn't stay in place after taking a picture, it will move slightly, which isn't a problem it doesn't show up on the shot however it does cause an issue if you are planning on doing animation as your sequence will come out very shaky.Another issue with this is that it is very flimsy and feels cheap, which isn't surprising as it is a cheap product, but I constantly feel like I'm going to snap something or it is going to break so I am very careful with it but I haven't had any problems with breaking so far.It comes with a nice little bag which makes carrying it very easy, however it is very small when it is folded up so you could just as easily fit it in a backpack if you didn't want to carry around extra bags which is very useful. The only issue with it folding into this small size is that when you put it to its full length, it is still rather small, big enough for most things, but still a bit small for a lot of other things. So if you are looking for something cheap and to do for on the go shooting and something that is very portable, this will get the job done.

Very good value for money
I bought this as the majority of the reviews were pretty good and it was a low price. The first thing that struck me was how light it is; I carried it around with me for a day and barely noticed the extra weight.Despite being so light, it is pretty sturdy once it's set up and I'm quite happy to have my DSLR on it. I've taken some really nice long exposure shots that wouldn't have otherwise been possible. I've not been out with this on a windy day yet though, so I don't know how it will stand up to that. It will probably require some hanging weight underneath to keep it steady, unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a hook for this purpose, but it shouldn't be too hard to improvise something.I have my doubts about whether or not the thinnest parts of the legs will last long - they're very thin and they look as though they'll bend easily, but for the price I'm prepared to accept that. The spirit level is a nice addition, although it's not particularly easy to see when I've got my camera mounted. The quick release plate is nifty, too.Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase. I intended to save up for a better quality tripod after a couple of months, but given how good this is I will definitely wait longer before upgrading.
