First Class Product
Great product, well built and works a treat. It sounds very simple, just plug it in as required and off you go but many complain that only one output works as did mine. However a bit of research showed that optical/spdif input to some devices can be tricky and is dependant on the initial sourse. In my case the sourse was a new Samsung tv, 2024 model. They have put only one sound output on this (and other!) sets, a digital optical only. There is no headphone output on the tv at all and none on their very expensive soundbar either. If sound volume was rated 0-100 my better half would need about 30, me around 90 so I needed headphones and I needed them to work at the same time as the soundbar. The soundbar worked fine on a single optical cable direct from the tv. When I fitted this splitter and a new cable ther was no change, worked fine. My Sennheiser wireless headphones had no digital input so I had to fit a digital to analogue converter to the second splitter outlet first. Didn't work, at all. To rule out the splitter I plugged the soundbar into the second splitter outlet and again it worked fine in both. In the end it was the tv. Some devices, like my headphones, will only work with a standard stereo (PCM) input. Modern TV's default though is a Dolby stereo which just does not work with some devices but some soundbars work with both. In tv (or device) settings, sound mode, change this from Dolby to PCM and job is done. Headphones now work fine. Hope this helps.

High quality product
I use this to split the optical sound output from my TV so I can listen to it on my hearing aids through a TV connector while my wife listens through a sound bar. Simple to use - just plug into TV and plug your kit into its two outputs.

Works well with Phonak Hearing Aids
I purchased a passive splitter prior to getting this from a different manufacturer, but I experienced lots of drop outs in the audio. Bought the active version of this model and it has solved the issue. One star removed because it doesn't have an off switch.
