This Black Diamond Stoneworks laundry wash has such an incredible scent! It's listed as bergamot and basil, with lily of the valley, jasmine and white patchouli, finishing with musk, oakmoss and cedar wood. All of those are my favorites but when I smell it I have an undercurrent of a citrus to it a little bit as well. It's just so fresh, so clean smelling and does a great job. Having said that however, it takes about 1/2 cup per load of wash which is expensive because this only lasts less than a week... but I have discovered another way to enjoy it. I put it in a spray bottle with water and I use it for 'cleaning' bathroom sinks and counters, the toilet area and more. It makes everything smell so good!

So, in our home, we normally use unscented stuff. I miss having my laundry scented so I figured I'd give this a try since it's liquid and I would only need to use a little bit and Bergamot is generally accepted.This was unpleasant for me but in a preferences sort of way. First, let's understand that I had been bitten by a snake the week before which put me behind on chores and also my whole game was off because I had to get to a point where I could walk without aid again. Today was the day! And you know what I did? I started my laundry and put a small blop of this in the softener part of the washer and then COMPLETELY NEGLECTED to add the laundry sheet to the load. I didn't realize that until the end when I started smelling this product. And it's just....not the thing for me. So, I ran the load again, this time adding the laundry sheet. That second run didn't change how the clothes smelled for me. Again, it's not overwhelming, but I do prefer my clothes to smell different. Instead of a freshly cleaned smell, this was more reminiscent of "it's been washed in scented soap but it's been sitting in the closet a few days now and somehow smells a little stale."Who knows. Maybe the snake venom did some shish to me, but this stuff just wasn't for me.

Since this product describes itself as "laundry wash" I wasn't sure if it was laundry detergent or a laundry additive. Based on the size of the bottle, I thought it might be similar to a cold-water wash detergent like the famous brand W---ite. The directions recommend 2.4 oz. of laundry wash for each load. Unsure how to measure 2.4 oz., I added 4 capfuls to my load of twin sheet set and a few other laundry items. The laundry wash cleaned well. The scent is absolutely wonderful. The cost is expensive, so I don't think this is a product that would be on my shopping list.

I typically use low or no scent detergent, but wanted to try this out for some of the linens in the house. Even doing a second rinse cycle and drying conventionally in the dryer the scent is very strong days later. If this is the sort of thing you are looking for- great - you've found it. But I will have to be very judicious in using this product.

I was hoping for a fresher clean scent that also did a good job at washing my clothes but this isn't exactly that for me. It smells fine but the scent lingers too long after a wash. Fine if you are into long lasting scented clothing. I expect an initial scent after a wash but not lingering as much as this does. The scent is pleasant but maybe more fitting to a type of cologne. Also, I don't think this is the best value for a laundry detergent, unless you use very little in smaller washes. I have an extra portable washer and I will finish the bottle using it for smaller batches like for washing my floor mop pads or kitchen towels, I'm not sure I want to wear the scent on my clothing.

The scent is why you buy this detergent. I find it to be very pleasant and long lasting. It has a balance of essential oils so no one is overpowering. I used it on a load of t-shirts (undershirts) and love how it smells throughout the day. I used 2 oz in my HE front load whirlpool. The directions say to 2-4 oz based on load size and how strong of scent you prefer. None of my clothes had stains so I can't really speak to cleaning power. Assuming it to be avg to slightly above. It has enzymes which is good for organic stains (dirt, body oils, etc.). Hope these insights are useful in your decision making process. Thanks!

This detergent smells amazing and works great! The citrusy bergamot scent isn’t overpowering, it’s just enough. It makes everything smell fresh. The cleaner has worked well on several loads so far. I use about 3 ounces for a full load. Very happy with the natural ingredients and performance with cleaning our clothes!
