I didn't buy from this seller. However, I bought two genuine P51s from an military shop. This kind of manual can opener is the best you can get, beating the side and top cranking types that are more common these days. However....I only have the P51, so can only give my thoughts on that item. First the good:These open cans very well, and with practise quicker and with less effort than you can with a cranking type of can opener. The folding nature of the blade is a nice feature for use on the move, carrying in a pack or on a keyring etc., However, this is not an advantage when left in the kitchen drawer. These seem particularly good for nostalgic purposes, and they are an iconic object for military enthusiasts.Now the bad:The P51 is not a magical piece of tech, it is no better than the cheap openers of this type available in my local shop. However, the P51 is ten times as expensive as what I can find in my local shop, and that is an important factor to take into account when purchasing such a mundane and simple kitchen essential. It also rusts easily and thus requires proper drying after cleaning, this is not a problem with cheaper versions.I don't have a P38, but as it is smaller I can see it being really handy for small cans although, again, not likely worth the cost.
