HUMGOO IP Cam HD 1080P WiFi Pan/Tilt/Zoom
I wanted a small camera to be able to monitor my living room and the Humgoo WiFi IP Camera looked to be a good fit for what I wanted. The camera has a nice design, feels well made and is reasonably discrete at approximately 13cm in height, by 9cm in diameter.Being made up of 3 sections, the camera is able to move in all directions. The body can rotate 360 degrees horizontally, whilst the lens is mounted inside a ball on top of the body, which allows you to move the camera vertically. The rear of the camera is where the antenna for the wireless connection is screwed on and it is also where you will find an RJ45 Ethernet port and the MicroUSB power port. The MicroSD card slot is located on the lower section of the ball part of the device, along with the reset button. On the bottom of the camera is a screw fitting for a mounting bracket, although this type of bracket is not supplied. It does however come with a small plastic disc that you can fix to your wall/ceiling and the then camera simply twists onto the disc.***** In The Box *****1 x Humgoo WiFi Camera1 x Mounting Disc1 x Mains Adapter1 x MicroUSB Cable3 x Wall Plugs and Screws1 x Reset Pin1 x User Guide***** Installation / Usage *****Setting up the camera is fairly straight forward, and involves using a smartphone app.You install the app from the app store (or directly via the website), register for a free account and then make sure your smartphone is connected to your wireless connection (the camera only supports 2.4Ghz connections, so make sure you are not connected to 5Ghz).Connect the camera to the mains and then use the pin to push the reset button for around 2 seconds which will cause the camera to beep. Now use the add camera button in the app to add your camera. You will need to enter the password for your wireless connection and then hold the phone near to the camera so that it can pick up the sound that is emmited. Within around 30 seconds, the camera is added and ready to use.Using the app, you can access the various settings which will allow you to set up motion detection alerts, record timings and change the password for the camera (highly recommended). You can also view video, take snapshots and set up timings so that the camera will change position at set times. You can change the position of the camera by simply swiping on the screen and the camera will rotate, whilst pinching the screen will let you zoom in.Other features are 2 way audio, giving you the ability to hear sound using the built in microphone, as well as to speak and have the sound played back via the cams built in speaker.***** Conclusion *****The camera feels well made and provides a decent image, whilst the smartphone app is fairly self-explanatory and easy to use.The WiFi connection seems to work well, but if possible I would always recommend using Ethernet as it will provide a more stable connection.A very nice feature of this particular camera is the ability to take a Navigation Picture. The camera will take a 360 degree image which is displayed underneath the live video, which allows you to simply tap anywhere on the image and the camera will immediately rotate to the position you tapped on. This is a great way to quickly change the viewing position.I also really like that the reset hole and the MicroSD card are stored in the ball section of the device, because when the lens is not tilted upwards they remain hidden and out of view.I initially had a problem with the smartphone app not being in English on my particular phone, but this was quickly fixed with a couple of emails, so I cannot fault the customer service.I haven’t fully tested the option yet, but my CCTV systems’ DVR is able to see the cam, so I should be able to record video directly to the HDD of the DVR which will be extremely useful. All in all, this is a very nice little camera and I’m happy with my purchase.

Price vs quality
The best camera for the price. The picture quality is in within limits, the App works a bit slow and your screen will get frozen for several minutes, but after resetting you nigh get lucky . Altogether, is what you paid for so don’t expect luxury quality. It does the job.

Wifi Compatibility
Difficult to rate this item as we never got it connected due to our wifi not being compatible, seems it would not connect to a 5g router that i never knew we had, still i'm not technical but the item looks really cool and i can imagine it being a good piece of kit so i can't knock it on here.

Not there
This was my first try at the security camera and I am not impressed at all. This is how the camera works -> It provides real time feed which you can view on the app provided.> In the app, one can select to get alert if there are any movements in the recorded area. Once you get notification, you can select it and it gets downloaded to your phone/tablet to view.Positives ---------1> Easy setup2> Real time feed is good, it may depend on your network speed.3> You can move the camera using the appNegative (BIG negatives) ---------------1> There's no cloud integration/service so you have to rely on the installed SD card. And if you are not alert enough (to check the notification) someone sneaking into your house then they can get to the camera and take the SD card with them and enjoy their break-in :(2> Alert setup is not great. It has a time limit which is of few days, if you are not able to retrieve your recording by then (using the app) it expires.3> For me camera does not detect any human movements but can detect trees moving in the wind and records them. It does not even captures me leaving in my car. Not sure whyWith above negatives, I won’t recommend it.

This is a great feature rich camera for price - I was looking for something to monitor inside the house as I travel on business a lot and I just wanted a cost effective way of doing this remotely. I came across this camera at an attractive price so decided that I would order it.The camera comes well packaged in a small box, includes USB charging cable and plug, a manual and some fixings if you want to mount it on a shelf. The instructions are ok, but to be honest once you have downloaded the app onto your phone and set up an account the camera virtually configures itself. I had it up and running within just a couple of minutes of unboxing. Once the camera is powered up and finds your wireless network you can provide the key in the app and it will then connect to the network and stream realtime video feed to your phone. You can control where the camera is pointing by scrolling around the screen and the camera will move with you - you can also record to your phone and playback later but the best thing is the two way talk facility which enables you to speak into your phone and the camera to echo it, even when you are in a different country or city! With these things its always important to take security seriously - its good to see the camera and app is encrypted and that you do need to set a password properly and not just rely on a default on.the picture quality is good and although the video playback will only be a good as your wifi speed I'm pretty impressed with this one for the money. The app is ok, there are a few spelling mistakes on it which hopefully the sellers will correct quickly but the value is pretty good.
