Anything that comes in red capsules causes my eyebrow to raise. If you take it out of the capsule, it is a very bitter tasting white powder, in no way resembling natural rhubarb.

Had a horrible night with heartburn and upset stomach which may have been the result of dinner the night before, so this morning - I figured - now is as good a time as any to give these rhubarb babies a try. I took one on an empty stomach and my stomach had a sense of calm that it hadn't had in a while. I don't have issues with constipation so I did not purchase for that, but wanted something that has the potential to "find and secrete" some stubborn waste that may have been bypassed. The older I get the more I learn about this issue - even if you do have regular movements - which I do. I can't know yet how this product will do - for the specific reason I purchased, but so far - I like it and I'm going to keep taking them.

These worked so-so. No bad side effects. But stopped being more effective the longer I took them.

Maybe a little too gentle for me. I do better with triphala or other herbs. Not to say this won't work well for someone else who needs a more gentle elimination aid.

This is a nice diet supplement of a 4-herb supplement for bowel movement support. It comes as a capsule that is easy to swallow. There are 4 herbs inside. Among them two are familiar to me as Chinese traditional medicines that are well known for their laxative potential. They are rhubarb and qianghuo with their rhizomes and roots being used in this product. The other two herbs are also rich in fibers and antioxidants. The recommend dose is one capsule with 250mg of the blend. It is a nice alternative way to a prescription medicine to soften the stool and help on bowel movement. As printed on the bottle, the shelve life is 3 years.
