ULTIMATE CANDIDA GUIDE-- you say? IT ABSOLUTELY IS!
This lady has written a book every woman should have-- maybe you don't "need" it now chances are-- YOU at some point WILL. Especially if you love, love, love decadent sweets and tend to 'forget' sensible eating in your hurried and rushed life. My wonderful doctor friend in Long Beach once gave me a copy of William G. Crook, MD-- The Yeast Connection Handbook. He said-- "All I ask is that you read it-- keep it because at some point you will find it helpful." Well years passed. I didn't need it-- until now. I immedately went to Amazon to check out the 'latest.' There I found it!THE ULTIMATE CANDIDA GUIDE & COOKBOOK by Dr. Cobi Slater. This lady has done an amazing book-- and she refers to Dr. Crooks book with respect and appreciation-- her take is inclusive, updated and on target. One of her adjunctive therapies is an infrared sauna. While I do not have the sauna I do have a hand held infared lamp that can be used on the abdomen. (And I am checking out the infrared saunas). The recipes in the cook book section are "down to earth" and easy. It is so easy to give this book a FIVE STAR RATING.

Recipes? Do's and Don'ts? Timeline of diet? Vitamins to add? This book has it all...
Huge plus that you don't have to download it into an E-book on an android device (like the Candida Crusher book). Bigger pluses because it gives recipes, lists the foods you can and cannot eat and why and is very clear cut. I also loved that it gives a time line of the diet and allows you to be in control of it and play with different food options instead of telling you "no dairy", like some other books do and leaves you to question "well does goat cheese count as dairy??". This book addresses all of those questions. And I like that it is in a paperback I can bring to the store with me. I've already highlighted, dog-eared and post-it paged it and is a constant on my nightstand. Great holistic and healthy diet, I enjoyed going on it, and I did lose belly fat and even diminished the look of my cellulite in the first two weeks. I think it's a great diet to do once a month for two weeks to reset the digestive system and this book helped me get through it!

Good and Simple
This is a good and very simple guide. So simple that it fails to explain some points. And I have noticed a few mistakes with recipes. But that is also an editors mistake. However, it is easy to read and understand and it gets right to the point. And I love that. I despise books that repeat things again and again. But if you are unfamiliar with Candida, you would probably need a more indepth book. If you just need a refresher or only want a surface education, this book is fine. I haven't tried many of the recipes but the ones I have tried are pretty good. But watch the salt content on the Almond Biscuits. Only use 1/4 tsp salt, not the stated 3/4 tsp. way too salty the way it is written.

A life saver! Truly this book has been such a god send. I have a massive systemic overgrowth of candida that had been misdiagnosed for over 6 years by western "doctors". My physical therapist recommended this book and it could have been written about me! It was such an enormous relief to finally know what the underlying cause for ALL of my health issues was.I am in month 6 of killing it off now, and the knowledge and information in this book continues to be invaluable to me as it drastically reduces fear and anxiety about all of the die off symptoms I continue to experience, because it describes all of them in detail, so I know it's all "normal" . Thank you Dr. Cobi and thank you amazon, I wish I would have known where to look for this a long time ago!Anyone suffering from anything unexplainable - READ THIS BOOK! THis has a lot of good information in it about Candida
THis has a lot of good information in it about Candida. However, they suggest to eat only tofu. I am not a doctor but constantly do research, I would not eat only tofu for protein. Tofu/sit is mostly GMO. A type blood people may be successful in eating tofu but the other blood types need other protein sources. Research I have read shows that soy may help to cause cancer and Alzheimers... the list goes on and on. And then the book contradicts it self and give recipes for chicken. Those are my two big disappointments in this book. Oh by the way, most people need red meat anyway as long as it is free range.Again the book has good information and the recipes are pretty good also.

Great resource guide for starters
This is a great resource guide when dealing with Candida. It gives a lot of information about the causes and ways to combat it. My favorite part of the book are the recipes that are given in the back. My only complaint is that there isn't more recipes.

Great Start for this diet
The book is educational! It has a lot of recipes and supplement explanations. I only wish it gave more attention to eating habits after the diet ends. I'd infer that eating whole foods with the suggested supplements is best but further explanation would be beneficial. Certainly there will be times I deviate from these eating habits. Overall good purchase. I will follow up with a naturopathic doctor for further details and to make sure I'm headed in the right direction when the diet ends.

One was really good, one was 'meh
I'm a little furious right now, but trying to be fair. My issues are mainly with the recipes. I've tried five. One was really good, one was 'meh,' two were like vomit in my mouth, and I'm still in shock at the last one which literally just disintegrated when I followed the recipe. Disintegrated. So, yeah, I'd like a refund for those expensive ingredients and the couple hours of my time it required for that little science experiment.I should also mention that some of the recipes are missing important things like cooking times and measurements. Just those nit-picky bits.Grrr. Rant. Fist waving. Maybe I'm just cranky since I'm so darn hungry because my dinner just DISINTEGRATED.

Important and concise information on candida.
The book is well writen by Dr. Cobi, and is a book that should be shared with everyone. Many people live with candida in their bodies without knowing until one or more of the many symptoms are corelated. Cobi provides recipes for tasty food options which reduce from your body the particular fuel that candida needs to flourish, making your success in the war on candida more a matter of your own resolve. Buy, beg, or borrow this book!

Terribly uninspiring book, unsuitable for beginners and too simple for diet maintenance
Written in 2014, this book could do with a refresh and a much more inviting presentation. About 50% of this book is the presentation of an "ultimate" "breakthrough" plan for eliminating Candida, yet there isn't really any evidence being presented as to the efficacy of the 'plan'. Nor are there any diagrams, sketches or photos, which makes the 141 page booklet rather dull and uninspiring. It feels and reads like a collection of pages that Dr Slater may have handed out to clients over the last 10-years. The recipe section is particularly dull and the 150 receipts are presented as a long printout without any introduction, explanation or beginner guides. Several recipes include prohibited ingredients. I am perplexed, how a book by a successful PhD candidate can be publish without index, references or even a categorisation by meal type. All weights and measuring are in imperial american units. This subject is important, but potential buyers will be better off spending a little more and purchasing another book.

Easy to follow diet
Purchased two books as recommended. Both had same recipes. Would suggest you just purchase this one. Does explain diet and plan well.

You can't unlearn this info! Unfamiliar with Candida? Pick this book up.
This is a thorough guide, provides quite a few options to improve your health and general digestive awareness with detailed explanations of Candida and how it behaves, impacts your day-to-day life. The cookbook has a nice variety. I wasn't suffering before, but I definitely feel healthier and more energetic following some of the information outlined in this book. There's no turning back!

This is my go-to book. Great recipes. It made my candida cleanse so much easier. Thank you for writing this book.
