Second one worked fine
Had one already I used in the basement shop. Works fine. Ordered another for the other end of the room, but it was incredibly loud and really annoying and returned it. The replacement works fine now. It is loud enough to be noticeable, but if it sounds like you're standing under an airplane engine then return it.

very powerful fan and well made
In use immediately and added a Digten variable speed control that is working perfectly, pull cold floor air out of a former garage space into an adjacent crawl space to even out heat for the winter. Actually working simultaneously with an infrared heater in conjunction with a plug-in thermostat. Excellent.

It really sucks/blows
As the title indicates, it really moves the air. 500+ cfm is nothing to sneeze at. It was easy to install for me. I know construction. It performs significantly better than I expected. This fan is installed in the master bathroom. I can open a window on the opposite end of the house, turn this fan on and feel a cross vent through the house. It’s powerful! Only downside is that it’s noisy. But it moves an insane amount of air. Noise is to be expected. I give it a 4.5 stars.

Nice fan but with significant design flaw ** review updated
I bought this fan recently intending to mount it to a plywood board that I would then put into my basement window to help with ventilation when I work on certain projects. So, a temporary use - open the window - put the board in - push the window down onto the board - remove board when finished for the day. I imagine that some people might want to mount it into a hole in the wall for a more permanent installation. It has a sturdy power cord with an in-line on/off switch, but the problem is that the power cord comes out of the fan body well out into the tubular body of the fan! (See pics.) So, if for example you wanted to mount it into a hole in the wall, the power cord would end up either inside the wall or hanging outside the wall. Crazy. For my purpose, where I might stick it into the window for a few hours, I just routed the cord back "inside", in order to plug it in to my indoor wall outlet. So, I was able to work with it so no need to send it back personally, but this design is a bit of a head-scratcher. Something to be aware of. Aside from that, it seems to be a quality fan with a good switch. Not super powerful but good enough for what I needed. ** I am updated this review after being contacted by the maker/seller in response to the review. The end result is that - the fan works for what I needed, so I have no reason to send it back, and they will be looking in to the design. I must add that I am very impressed with their communications and customer service. They were very responsive to my concerns.

Sadly not well thought out design and weak air flow.
Very disappointed. The flaps on the back use a super cheap and flimsy spring. They do not fully open and close from the fan being turned on and off. They stay partially because the spring isn’t powerful enough to close them all the way. They made no notch so the power cord could be inside and plugged in and the fan lacks any real power to properly draw out the air. Not worth the money.
