Takes the worry out of cooking
The Ninja ProChef is a bluetooth thermometer that can be used in the oven or BBQ, I haven't used it outdoors yet but I can comment on usinhg it in a gas oven.It is abour six inches long and comes with it's own chaging case, (requires a triple A battery)Like a lot of other meat thermometerrs it is designed to be pushed into a joint or cut of meat and can with stand temperatures of around 370c (that's a lot hotter than a cup of tea)It has it's own downlodable app that takes all the guesswork out of cookig. It allows you to monitor a whole range of different meats and it gives an alert at stages through the cooking process and when the cooking has completed. It also allows for optimum resting time before serving. It takes away all the 'Is it done yet?' questions and saves opening the oven a variou times during cooking and loosing oven heat.Using this leaves you free to get on with other tasks such as laying the table, cooking the veg o, if you're having a party, just socialising.Very user friendly and easy to use. While it's not a cheap item if you cook meat regually, or have a lot of barbecues, then this will save a lot of fretting and worry.

Made my cooking more enjoyable and stress free
I downloaded the app on my phone, and within minutes, I was connected. The Bluetooth range is impressive at 50 meters, which means I can step away from the oven without losing connection. It's easy to use the app to set the temperature, and it lets me know when my meat is cooked perfectly. The probe itself feels durable and heat-resistant. I've used it for chicken breasts and steaks, and it gives me the perfect results every time. It's really accurate.

Amazing product!
Came in just In time to cook a pork roast for a family bbq. I used this as I prepared all my other items because I always forget and end up over cooking. My phone went off after cooking For 2 hours and It was perfect. My family said it was the best pork roast I have ever made. I think it was because it was not dried out. Thanks Ninja!

Works well, but like most of these it has limitations
This is a well designed meat thermometer, with lots of the same features that most of these have these days. My primary comparison is against the Meater probes, which I have 3 of, as well as other wired meat probes. My biggest likes are the wireless probe and dual thermometer aspects. While its hard to beat the stability of a wired probe, its so much nicer not having to deal with wires, especially if you need to rotate meat around on your grill/smoker. The dual temp probe is also nice because it gives you the added ambient temperature component to tracking your cook. The app is fairly easy to navigate and provides a good amount of information. It's easy to gather the relevant information when a cook is ongoing. I could not find information for past cooks, like I can in my Meater app. I don't use that much, but I wanted to note that for those that do. Connectivity wise compared to my Meaters (both regular and plus probes) these probes connect quickly and are very stable in most cases, unlike my experience with Meater probes. Also, I had plenty of power for a 8 hr cook, with lots of reserve to go.The biggest limitation that I see is the range of the probe. I use a Lyfe Tyme offset smoker, and while I was able to get good connectivity between the probe and the base through the 1/4 inch steel, it would have been a much better product if the base was wifi compatible. The bluetooth range of the base is pretty adequate, and I was able to maintain connection through most of my backyard and the immediate area inside my house, but close to the back yard, but it quickly lost connection indoors as I moved away from the immediate vicinity of the backyard. Additionally, one of my cooks required aluminum pans and foil, and surprisingly that drastically diminished the range, even outside of my big offset smoker. This is a very similar limitation to my Meater, so I suppose its just a limitation of the technologies used. All in all, the build quality of this probe is quite high. It's fairly easy to clean, charge, and maintain, and it works fairly well in most cases. Power management is great, and the app is decent. In my opinion this is very comparable to the Meater line of probes, and while it seems to be more stable, it also has similar range limitations. In this price range, I feel that this is a good product for the features that it includes, and the probe will get good use in the rotation of probes that I use for grilling and smoking.

Makes it easy to get food just right
This thermometer is so handy. Now there's no need to get up and check what you're cooking over and over, or rely on the time provided in a recipe and risk getting dry, overcooked food. I just stick this little probe in, make a few selections in the app, and relax until I'm notified it's done. Easy peasy. The app is very easy to use. I had another thermometer like this and the app was really confusing so I didn't use it as often as I could have. Not only is this one easy it also has more features that make it even better to use. I love getting the warning shortly before it's done so if I'm in the middle of something I can wrap it up. If you use other Ninja products it gives cooking charts for several of them with suggested cooking temps and times. It also allows you to not only pick the kind of meat you're cooking to reach the specific temp needed, but it goes one step further by giving options for the cut of that meat. You can customize it from there by selecting how well done you want it to be or changing the suggested temp to whatever you want it to be. Basically it makes it very easy and very customizable.I've found Ninja products to work well and be very user friendly, and this digital thermometer is no exception. Of the few I've tried it is by far the best. Once you get used to how nice it is for cooking to be stress free and lower effort you'll never be able to go back.

More accurate than other brand
This is my second wireless meat thermometer this year. The ninja brand is much better and definitely more accurate than the other meat thermometer I bought that was off brand.Probe connects really easily to Wi-Fi and I like the mobile app as it's really easy to use and I'm able to be working inside on other foods while the pork shoulder and other meats smoke on my egg.I've used this maybe three or four times on different kinds of meats from steaks to chicken and as I mentioned definitely when I'm smoking up pork shoulder. Easy to set up and easy to track the temperature and when I manually test with a old school meat thermometer the ninja probe is within one or two degrees.Pretty easy to keep this charged you can just stick it back in the base and the batteries within there just keep it charged up.One thing to be aware of is that the end of the probe will get extremely hot -- just know that!!

Fantastic performance. Almost perfect
I’m an avid home cook turned chef. Other than a good knife and a cutting block, I think a good thermometer is the most important tool in the kitchen. I’ve tried other Bluetooth thermometers before and had lackluster results. The Ninja app is intuitive and user friendly for novice and expert cooks alike. Video, audio, and a beautiful interface. One thing I had happen during a cook was that my pellet smoker jammed and turned off; it was an overnight cook and thankfully I woke up to check on it. The thermometer did fine; but being that it monitors internal and ambient temp; it would be nice if it would alert you of flare ups, or extreme temp drops. That being said, I’m glad this thermometer has the range that it does so that I could see what was going wrong. Other thermometers will cut out just from being in an oven or behind any closed door, etc. I was inside, on another level and I still had connectivity. Very impressive; this is what real cooks are looking for! I would love if it had WiFi for an even better range, or be able to check when away from home for long cooks. That being said, when I tried wrapping a brisket in foil, once I covered it; it does turn off.. so if you’re doing any wrapped meats, you’ll have to foil around the probe or re-insert through the foil. Not knocking points; just a note.Probe itself and docking/charging station are attractive and well made. One AAA battery is all it takes. The probe has a very impressive battery life, which is essential for long cooks, especially meat on smokers or braised meats in the oven.I use a lot of thermometers and this probe is the only Bluetooth thermometer I’ve used that has the accuracy of my high end NSF, commercial thermometers that I use in a professional kitchen.Overall, I’m very happy with this Bluetooth thermometer. It’s by far the best I’ve used so far; kudos to Ninja on this product! If it had WiFi connectivity and/or notifications for temp drops or flare ups, it would be a perfect product. Still, fantastic product and well worth the price point. Highly recommended!
