The Inseparable Nature of Love and Aggression: Clinical and Theoretical Perspectives

Always Enlightening
Whatever Dr. Kernberg writes, it will be read. To debate, to criticize, to agree, or, more simply, to learn. A beautiful book. Enlightening in many ways. Yet, the writing style, the chapter and topic distribution could have been more 'fluid', less 'chapterized'.Informative, enlightening, pleasurable to read. Yet: the 'professorial' style of writing is outdated. Reading, in 21 century, should be more 'first person' writing. Not to compromise the beauty of the descriptive language, or the format of the presentation. Simply: a more 'down to earth ' approach to the explanatory models would make this book more readable. A disengagement from daily , 'real life' phrasing, limits the beauty of the book. Yet: as always, the author is a Master of his Art.F. Peter Armendariz, M.D.

Kernberg worth attention always
Kernberg is always fascinating and intriguing to read. He is one of the most important psychoanalytic theorists alive today, with influence not only in the analytic field but in dialectical practice and other counseling/psychotherapy approaches. His writing style can be a little tough, but the thinking is clear and the text is a very useful explanation of Kernberg's views on personality and therapy.

On Love and Agression
Mostly just a compilation of what he had published before. He is very good but if you've already read his stuff no need for this.
