Having a temperature control makes all the difference. Adjusts in 10 degree increments and is fast and precise. Used to dry out wood in a crack when I didn't want to harm the paint. Heated the caulk afterward to get it to flow into the crack and bond with the wood. Make the strongest glue joint ever with JB Weld epoxy. Clean with 91% alcohol from the drugstore. Preheat at 160 degrees. Apply epoxy and post heat until the the surface tension just breaks and the epoxy sags into the joint. It is has now well and truly filled the joint and bonded to the material.

I bought this to weld a kayak keel as I was looking for high temp control and nozzle options. This was the perfect tool for the job, despite the price, as the results look pro and have lasted two years so far. Peace of mind when you've experinced a leak.

Never tried welding plastics before but this heat gun makes it easy! The digital heat range selection was one of major factors in my purchase. As with any welding practice makes perfect, heat and material feed rate are key to a good weld.

This is a great product and does everything i purchased it to do plus more. It is heavy duty and does not break when dropped.

The gun has good temperature control.

My heat gun works as expected however there it smells horrible and the instructions were smeared with grease. The smell is actually so bad it gives me a headache I complained several times with no response finally I had to return it as I just could not take it any more. Do not purchase unless foul stenches do not bother you!

Works as advertised, but doesn't really melt welding rods with welding tip very well. I've had better success by heating a steel blade, heating the surfaces to be welded, and then applying the welding rod with the hot iron tip.
