I was impressed with how this book looks. Hardcover, inviting colors and design. I was surprised the author focuses on her experiences as an Italian living in Australia. But it was a nice surprise for me (an Italian American). The book is well-organized and offers a lot of ideas and practical strategies for people who work with Italian folk magic. She doesn't say the practice is a closed one but she makes it very clear that it is a practice that deserves respect, and that is very much rooted in what southern Italians have been doing for a very long time. I believe it should be a closed practice because there has already been too much appropriation and destruction in the Italian diaspora. Italian immigrants in the U.S. suffered from racism, and to this day we are subjected to stereotyping and bias. I would definitely recommend this book but spend some time thinking about why you are choosing this path. Respect the Italian culture and history. And respect your ancestors. If you have no connection to the Italian folk magic path, it is best to explore your own ancestral journey.

Beautiful collection of information and recipes from old Italy. There are things in this book that I've seen my mother say and do that I didn't have records of, so lovely to get reconnected to that part of our heritage.
