Back To Zamberlan
Tried may of the Hi-Tecs, Scarpas (fabric and suede varieties) and Merrells over the years but they just don't last. Decided to spend a bob or 2 and make a return to Zamberlan whose boots I used to have many years ago. Can't comment on the durability yet because I've only had them a month but in all other areas these boots are in a different league entirely. Beautiful one piece design makes for an extremely weather proof design. The leather can take a real battering in the mud and dirt and comes up like new with a little wash and Hydrobloc application.Sizing is similar to Merrell and Scarpa. I'm normally in a size 40 for regular casual shoes but I buy a 41 for walking boots.Praises too to L.D.MOUNTAIN CENTRE LIMITED. They promised delivery in 3-5 working days; in fact, I received the boots in less than 48hrs.

Great boots, surprisingly light but feel stout. Great tongue design
Well made, light given sturdiness. Come up a bit small so I ordered a size up.Tongue design all in one with upper for better water proofing when the going gets tough - deep wet mud at the moment and it shrugs it off. Easy to clean too.Worth treating to Nipwax from time to time.Had Berghaus before which were light but not very durable, leaking and failing after less than three years. Got fed up with wet feet. Leather so much easier to keep clean, just hose down after a walk

Fandabidosi!
The boots are supremely comfortable...the best I've had! The sole is cleverly engineered with a precisely placed rocker action under the forefoot. This ensures that the foot rolls over easily without squirming and straining within the confines of what would otherwise be a stiff shoe. This rocker action is the principle secret to its supreme comfort. The rest of the shoe is fabulously crafted too. I've had a Pavers boot before, and while comfortable and snug at rest, the foot came out of it at the end of long walk feeling tired and painful because it has been straining within the stiff confines of the boot without the aforesaid rocker action. There is one thing to watch out for...and it has been mentioned by other reviewers too. The size is somewhat smaller than what you would expect. My last boot was a size 9, and it was generously sized. The Zamberlan was deliberately ordered at a size 9.5, and it was a tad tighter than my previous size 9 boot! So, do watch out for this size factor.

So far so good
I got sick of buying "cheap" boots that last for a year. So, after some internet searching this brand came up as one of the best. These are at the lower end of the range, but all I need them for is dog walking and the odd hike. So far they feel good quality, are comfortable......I guess time will tell if they are durable

Completely brilliant. Perfect from get go. One piece uppers
Going strong after 2 years... I'm a size 45-46 (UK11). I purchased UK12 for these and this was perfect. Consider a thicker pair of socks and foot expansion during walking :-)Amazing how thick leather boots these days for like a glove and are so flexible, but this is what they are. I like the one piece upper construction and lack of stitching on the uppers which is a point of weakness and also it gives the 309's a more vintage aesthetic. I've been doggy walking in squelchey muddy terrain and my feet are warm and dry. Also a shout-out to the Bridgedale socks being worn. I did endless Reseach before buying and sent back a pair of Scarpa's because I felt the construction (whilst excellent) was not on par with the kings of walking boots, Zimberlan

lightweight but not as durable as they could be
lightweight and seem waterproof, however definitely not as durable as my old version of the same thing (but lighter). have become scuffed a lot quicker despite liberal use of leather/goretex protective cream. however not falling apart after a year of moderate use.I'm also not a fan of the embossed logo on the side or the logo sunk into the tongue, detracts from the old school look

product very good and comforatable
So why only 4 stars? Not exactly as illustrated in picture, the gortex badge is cloth not brass. Is that important I hear you ask, probably not but items should be as displayed.Ill keep them they are spot on.Seller needs to update picture.

Beware sizing! Sellers service is very good but product sizing is misleading.
Had to return boots as despite ordering 1 full size bigger than my standard size (having read Amazon reviews), the boots were too small. I ordered a UK 9 but the label on the delivered boots was US 9. Gets confusing as if you look on sizing chart on order page it has UK and US 9 as being the same. I have looked at several other sizing charts all of which state US 9 as equivalent to to a smaller UK size. I usually wear a UK size 8 walking boot. The Zamberlan UK/US 9 was too small. Can't comment on quality of boots as didnt get to wear them. Delivery and subsequent refund by Sportsshoes via Amazon returns prompt and efficient but obvious issues with sizing charts..
