Beautiful image quality... with one cable to rule them all! But could use more controls
Let me just start by saying that the monitor unit I first received was not functioning as expected and I was very disappointed... but then I reached out to tech support for help and they couldn't have been more professional and expedient. Within a few days of opening my support ticket and sending supporting video evidence of the issue, they sent me a replacement unit and a return label to send the defective unit back. The issues I was seeing with the first unit were QA and build quality related. The replacement unit I received is well made and performed as a premium product. And dealing with their support process was actually pretty effortless.Regarding the actual portable monitor, I'd say this is a very compelling option. Portable monitors have many compromises, but to find a full USB-C unit for this price is a good value. The main advantage is that, the video cable is also the power cable, which, for portable monitors, is a big difference. For me, I use it with a laptop and sometimes to monitor my camera and a single cable is pretty incredible. The other concern I had was the image quality. "HD" quality is usually not enough, but considering this is a 15-inch monitor, text and images are very sharp and pleasant to look at. My MacBook produces stunning images and I would use this as a quick reference monitor on the go.With all of that said, my main complaint is not the issue with a bad unit and having to replace it. My main issue is the fact that there aren't a lot of options for controlling the image. Professional portable monitors have additional controls for rotating the image, changing aspect ratios, gamma control and backlight/blackpoint controls. But even taking these into account with the price of this unit, it is still a good value. At the end of the day, a compact, no-fuss monitor that "just works"... and this portable monitor does the job well... I'd buy it again for sure...

Decent portable monitor with USB Hub, but no HDR and no HDMI ports
A 15.6” portable monitor from Plugable with a built-in USB C hub with passthrough charging, it can receive 100w from a USB C PD wall charger (or power bank) and relay 85w to the connected device like a laptop, tablet, Steam Deck, etc. It can also pass 10 Gigabit/s of data to the connected device, so you could connect an external SSD to the monitor and it would be connected to the laptop using the single USB C cable that is transferring the video signal from the laptop. Now, about the monitor’s tech specs, it’s IPS LCD 1080p 60Hz with 300 Nits maximum brightness. There is no HDR support though, but I don’t really see that as a big deal. Many monitors in this price range say that they support HDR, however they do not have the brightness, contrast, or color space to actually display it properly. However, most of them are still capable of receiving an HDR signal and attempting to display it properly, and this Plugable monitor is not. The one definite downside is the color space, most portable monitors like this one are 99% sRGB. This one is better 65-70% sRGB, so colors do not look as vibrant in comparison. Despite all of that, the image looks pretty good, in a desktop use case, text and icons are clear and legible and everything is crisp and sharp. When watching videos and playing games, it looks like any other similarly priced portable monitor to my eyes.I like the included stand, it’s a step up from other portable monitors and has a magnetic, foldable design that allows you to use several different orientations for how you use it to prop up the monitor. It’s also semi-permanently attached to the monitor on the backside, so it’s more secure than most others which are just using magnets. One big thing to mention, this monitor has no HDMI ports at all, not Mini HDMI or Micro HDMI, either. You can get around this by using a USB C to HDMI adapter but it’s worth mentioning because most portable monitors have mini HDMI and include a Mini to full size HDMI cable. Although for devices like Nintendo Switch, which uses HDMI from the dock to the TV, you can simply plug the Switch directly into this monitor and it will still output video. Although I’m not completely sure if the Switch will detect itself as being in “docked” mode which unlocks higher performance on the console. It may still think it’s in portable mode and be artificially limiting its performance.

As Advertised, and I Love It
First, the obvious: The image quality is outstanding, the monitor is light but not cheap feeling, and the case is detachable. Now, this only supports UBS-C connection, so for those who may not be terrible tech savvy this means that you'll have to be aware of the type or cords you're using. Normally when using something like this as a second screen for a laptop or computer you'd connect via HDMI, but not so here. One of the three USB-C ports supplies power to this monitor, one is used to receive audio and video from a connected device and the third port can be used to power and/or charge a device. These ports are the middle, bottom and top respectively, and each port features a little symbol next to it to give you a clue as to what it's for. Now, all that being said, it does come with a thick and high-grade USB-C cable, which I use to power it. More often than not I use this while connected to my Samsung Galaxy Fold 4, to have an ever larger screen to display whatever it is I need to at the time; I suggest you use a USB4 or Thunderbolt cable when connecting this to your phone, tablet or laptop. Regular USB-C cords may not cut the mustard. Also, another great thing is that this charges my phone while it's connected, so I don't have to worry about the phone dying.Anyway, in summary, this is beautiful all around, and the screen is vivid. With the right accessories this is champion, and the attached (but detachable) screen protector doubles as a stand. Super clean, a small bezel, and easy to use right out of the box, I most definitely recommend!
