No smell, great for back sleeping and side sleeping
I'm a life-long side sleeper, but I've been getting back into camping and I'm determined to learn to sleep on my back, so I don't have to bring so much gear. I normally sleep with 4 or 5 pillows, with two old school contoured memory foam pillows being my daily drivers. I found that this single pillow replaces both of them easily. It's slightly denser than mine, and I didn't realize I wanted that extra support. I've been stacking two pillows together to compensate, folding and layering them to fit just right, but this fits automatically thanks to the extra thickness and larger contours and denser foam (compared to my old pillows).I'm usually a little skeptical of the word "support" when it comes to pillows and mattresses, because I don't want it to be hard and create pressure points. (And as a side sleeper, "pressure points" == squished ear). But this manages to provide the support without squishing my ear, because it has an ear hole! I guess all these new super contoured pillows have ear holes now. I thought I invented ear holes a couple months ago, when out of frustration with an uncomfortable hiking pillow, I took a pair of scissors to the foam insert and cut a great big ear hole in it. But this has one out of the box. Now it can hold up all the less sensitive areas of your face with nice supportive foam, but leave your ear suspended in airy comfort. The contours are about right for me. I have an average sized head and a long neck, so when I'm side sleeping I flip it around and sleep with the thicker curve supporting my neck. When I'm back sleeping, I tuck the wings down tight against my shoulders, and maybe even on top of my shoulder a bit, to cradle my head more. And that works pretty well, I have actually fallen asleep on my back with this pillow, which almost never happens. The contours are just right to make your head feel secure, without feeling like it's in a hammock. So my dreams of becoming a back sleeper are not lost. My plan is to cram it into a denim compression sack and take it backpacking with me, despite the 3lb penalty. There is almost zero smell with this pillow. I smelled it closely all over just to check, and it's there if you really go looking for it, but almost imperceptible. The one exception is the hole cut in the center, if you smell right inside that, there is still a noticeable smell. My theory is that they outgas the surface with some process, but it's still a little smelly in the center, and when thy cut the hole it releases a little of what's left. But as long as you don't bury you nose in the center and take a big whiff, you'll be fine. I've had mattress toppers that totally stunk up a room before, so I know what people are worried about, and there's nothing like that with this pillow.

I love it so much I got more
This pillow feels very cool and it has never gotten warm while I'm sleeping on it. It holds it's shape and because of that, I can sleep very comfortably. this is a whole new style of pillow and I'm here for it. it solves all my sleeping issues that surrounds pillows - 1. it doesn't flatten 2. it's cool and it stays cool even with million degree body heats 3. perfect height off the bed for my head which helps my spine a great deal; no neck pains no headaches. definitely a 4 thumbs up!

Great ergonomic pillow
I'm now a big fan of ergonomic pillows. I want to kick myself every time I think about how long it took me to try one. I just always thought they were too weird and gimmicky looking so I just stuck with contour pillows. Man was I missing out. The way ergonomic pillows cup your head about makes them feel like they're made just for you. This one is now the 7th I've tried and is my current favorite. Like my former favorite shown next to this, it has the perfect blend of squishy yet supportive foam. Unlike it though it has a nice uniform side armrest. With my former I actually liked the side facing this pillow the most since it had a nice shoulder cut out for the whole length, but that side's arm rest was high and felt weird to use so I never did. This one also has a better cover overall because it's softer. That being said it leads me to the only thing I can think of to complain about. I wish it had a flap to fully cover the zipper like my former favorite has. This one just has the zipper teeth covered but the head is still exposed. It's not that bad though since as zipped heads go it's nice and fully rounded so even if you do scrape your arm across it, it won't actually scrape you. I'm really happy with this. If you've never tried an ergonomic before, I highly recommend you do.

Comfy Pillow
I tried this pillow to work with my CPAP nose pillows as a side sleeper. It helps with the shorter sides so my face is supported but my CPAP exhaust doesn't blow easily over the pillow (quiet Darth Vader). The foam is very comfortable and the thickness is good for medium to broad should side sleepers. Also works for back sleepers but doesn't have individual layers to remove to be thinner. Overall I like this pillow!

Cloud pillow
I’ve recently switched to firmer pillows because I felt like I needed some extra support, especially for side sleeping. However this pillow is so soft and comfortable that I’ve been won over. It’s not as supportive as thick memory foam or filled buckwheat pillow, but it still supports your head and neck well. The shape is well designed, where many cervical pillows fail (in my opinion) is the back sleeping. For me cervical pillows can either be too claustrophobic on the sides or provide too little support in the middle. The shape of this pillow is perfect in both supporting back sleeping without feeling like it’s forcing your neck/head into one position only. It also is plenty supportive on the sides to support side sleeping. It’s height isn’t as tall as some other pillows can get, but it still feels very comfortable to sleep on my side. This pillow is so soft it’s like laying your head on a cloud, but with just enough firmness to feel completely supported.

Very comfortable0
My son loves this pillow. He's a side and stomach sleeper who has old shoulder injuries from rugby. This pillow has helped a great deal with his shoulder pain. He loves the contour for his head and ear and finds it very comfortable. He also likes that the "slots" for his arms are in closer to his head than with most pillows of this type. He likes to sleep with his arms almost tucked under his head and this cervical pillow allows him to position his arms in a very similar position so he's comfortable and the positioning doesn't feel "foreign." We highly recommend this quality, comfortable pillow. Particularly for people with shoulder pain who still want to sleep on their sides or stomach.
