I would like to say it does what it says on the tin........
but when plugging into a usb port on my pc it seems to be a bit loose and doesnt seem to make proper connection. Also it drops out if not used for a few hours. I then have to reboot it by unplugging and replugging, sometimes several times before I have a line out from skype. Also gets very warmyes, I am still using XP, but one day I may want to upgrade, so I am going to find another product and ditch this one as it is causing me grief over by its erratic behaviour.

No Vista compatibility!
I recently purchased this item, presuming that any responsible company would release drivers for Windows Vista. However, VoipVoice, the manufacturer, has indicated that it has no intention to produce updated drivers for this or other of its "older" products. Please be aware that if you buy this, you will be unable to use it on your Vista computer. Happy shopping.

No Vista drivers :(
Millions of people use Vista OS, however this company took the arrogant stance and decided categorically NOT to release Vista drivers. The only real alternative is an ITA Plus telephone adapter which is compatible. Not a clever decision UConnect! (or should that be UcantConnect)

UConnect USB DECT Phone Adapter For Skype
I have had one of these units for many years and it, together with Skype, have save me hundreds of Pounds making calls to America and Germany, connecting two or three people at the same time.THE ONLY PROBLEM IS IT ONLY WORKS WITH WINDOWS-XP.Some idiot or idiots, at the company who sell it, have not provided new drivers for Vista or Windows 7. What a waste of a good unit.If you are running OS-XP buy it, when I first bought mine it was Β£20.00, but it has paid for itself many times over.At the time of writing, September 17th. 2010, I am about to order the:- Sogatel - Skype Dual phone USB RJ11 adapter - Use Your Regular Home Phone for Skype and Landline Calls - Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000 (BLUE), from Amazon. I have contacted the seller Premier-Xpress, via the Amazon website and their reply was,Thank you for contacting us. The adapter uses SkypeMate as its driver, which is still in active development and has earned a Microsoft "Compatible with Windows 7" logo. It may be necessary to update to the latest version, as Windows 7 support was only added in SkypeMate 4.0.0.12 and the discs may not contain this, however the updated, Windows 7 compatible software is downloadable at our website:The Sogatel Adapter unit price is about what I paid for the UConnect when they first came out, but it will be well worth it, if it works with Windows 7 as well as UConnect did with XP.
