Lovely retelling of the story behind Diwali
This is a lovely retelling of the story behind the Hindu festival of lights known as Diwali.

Beautifully illustrated by an amazing artist
The epic deserves a beautiful, modern rendition for the kids that grow up here in America. This book is not long but a picture is worth a thousand works and sparks the imagination of the child while keeping it short and fast paced for adults. While the story has been summarized to allow kids to ease into the mythology, the pictures are beautiful and take you to another world. My eight year old was able to read this in a hour or so, but then keeps going back to look at pictures.Great collector item for your bookshelf....

Tolle Version eines Klassikers
Diese Version von Ramayana ist sehr gut zu lesen und ist dem Originaltext von Valmiki sehr nah. Absolute Kaufempfehlung von mir.

Good overview
This book is beautiful, and as a first pass at the Ramayana I enjoyed it. BUT. It really felt like it was missing something. The writing was nice, the illustrations were fantastic and added to the work but something was missing. It felt really rushed.I mean obviously this is a children’s retelling so it’s an overview of the story but it made me feel like I was missing out on something and it rushed the characters through the adventure as if the author had a word count she was told she couldn’t exceed. I wanted us to sit with those emotions and battles a little more.Oh well. For a kid’s intro it’s great. If it makes you look for a fuller version then it’s probably fulfilling it’s mission. 🤷🏻♀️
