I purchased this 2-pack of hook and eye latches to secure a few doors around my home and garden. I was looking for something that would be simple to install, strong enough to withstand outdoor conditions, and versatile enough to be used in multiple places. The 3-inch size is perfect for securing smaller gates, windows, or even interior doors. I used one for a garden gate and the other for a sliding door inside the house. This twin pack containing two black hook-and-eye-latches with screw fittings included.Whilst the first latch looked great, the second seemed to have suffered a paint mishap and the smooth finish was flawed (pictured). Practically, this made no difference to me (I've used it to close a hatch under the eaves), but if you're using it somewhere prominent where you need this to look perfect, then would be a bit of a letdown.Screws provided are 15mm long and suitable for wood.Inside distance between the two fittings is 45mmOutside distance between the fittings is 95mm

I ordered these to fit to my shed door to keep it closed (there is nothing valuable in it so don't need a padlock or similar. The latch feels nice and strong. It comes with the right sized screws to fit it. Fitting took a matter of minutes and now the shed door stays securely shut but is still very easy to open. For £5.49 for a pack of two (at the time of writing) this seems really good value for money.

We ordered these for out gates but seeing them when they arrived. They are just a little small for that use I feel. These seem more suited for cupboards or maybe a lightweight shed door.The hook and eye part seems very nicely made. They do come with screws but these look a little cheap, slightly rusty inside the little plastic bag they come in already, so I would not use these and would use my own if I were fitting these. That said, for the current price of just over five pounds these seem fair value.

Seem pretty decent quality, Amazon only sent one of the two latches tho. Won’t just send me another one, I have to send back the one I want for a refund and start all over again. Just swallowing the loss. Annoying.
