Our silica-based aerogel is the lightest material on Earth, consisting of 99.8% air and recognized by Guinness World Records. Hydrophobic and versatile, it comes in various chunk sizes and boasts a stunning translucent appearance. Originally developed for NASA, it serves as a powerful insulator and has been used in space missions to protect equipment from harsh conditions.

Generous amount
Received more than expected. Lighter than styrofoam. Very interesting item and a great gift for someone who has everything.

Super cool material. Worth it
I've wanted to see Aerogel for about 20 years, and I finally pulled the trigger on this after watching a video with a friend. When I received it, both of our minds were totally blown. Incredibly trippy material and super fun. Worth every penny for just the experience alone.Rub a small piece into your hands (far away from your face to prevent inhalation) and pour water into your hands. The water will act like Mercury, due to the hydrophobicity. Then wash your hands.HOWEVER... Be careful handing it to people for them to observe without placing it into their palm directly... Two people shattered my large samples into pieces with minimal grip force between two fingers, not knowing what it was.

Exotic Material Heaven
I got this to use & integrate into some custom jewelry. There's multiple pieces in the collection that are large enough to use in my design. It's exactly as it was described and should work out well for what I'm making. Good purchase.
