Great Study Tool! But very fragile
Update (8/13/10): If you're looking for a study tool/distraction removing device and you end up here like I did, the word you're looking for is "foggles" and they do sell them here on Amazon. I have never heard of them in my life, but I tried searching for something like them for ages until someone told me about them FINALLY!Update (7/7/19): The 1st pair I received had faulty tint on them (had a reddish hue and I was able to still see through them which defied their purpose). They sat in the box long before I put them to use, but I contacted the company even though it was past the return date. It was one of the best customer experiences I have had, super awesom rep and not just b/c they sent me a replacement pair. This replacement pair was great and was what the below review was based on.I have to unfortunately report that they are very fragile however. So do NOT try to bend them if you think they're too tight. I was taking them off with one hand one day, they slid off at a slight angle and snapped right in two. I went back to the faulty tint pair, but one day I pulled them out of my bag and out of the sturdy glasses case I put them in and they were snapped in the same place, so I don't think it's a coincidence. I didn't treat them roughly or even wear them in the sunlight so I don't know why this would happen. I mentioned it to the seller but didn't want to press the issue and seem like I'm looking for handouts, never heard much back the 2nd time around. I am keeping it a 3 star for the awesome customer service 1st go around, and they did work well when they were in one piece. ...(end update)I bought these because I get easily distracted when studying. Every time I see something move out of the corner of my head gets drawn to it. Then I start getting frustrated, especially when it's a complicated topic. I prop these slightly above my eye so I can see down below them but it cuts out my field of view above. This also helps me keep good posture because I have to be sitting straight to see things. I could see how some people would say they can be a little snug for long time usage, but I like it for my purposes, don't think I'd be able to prop them up if they weren't, and if it really bothered me I could probably bend them out a little. It's a distracting world and whenever I need to drown it out to think I put these on with some noise canceling headphones!Customer service team is also awesome! I had a great experience talking to them about a question I had.

Blackout Bands "Night Hawk" sleepmask is AMAZING!
I cannot praise this sleepmask enough! The Night Hawk sleepmask by Blackout Bands is the absolute best sleepmask I have EVER used, and I have tried several different styles and types over many years. When you put on these Night Hawks, you can go to sleep in a very brightly lit room, and it will seem like the room is pitch-black! It is an amazing product, and I VERY highly recommend this particular sleepmask!!!This is an update to my earlier review. In reading some of the other posts, it seems some customers have a bit of light seeping in under and around the lenses and they wish the bands provided better coverage angles and were not quite so tight. It could be that they purchased the "Ninja" style, rather than the "Night Hawk" style. As I have both types, I really do prefer the pitch-black coverage provided by the Night Hawk style. The Ninja style is very good, but in my opinion, the Night Hawk style is EXCELLENT. The Night Hawk style has wider arms. In the online photo, you can see that the arms are wider nearest the lenses, and gradually taper down to a more narrow width. The outer side of the lenses is "silvered", not just black. I hope this helps others distinguish between the two different styles of Blackout Bands!

Sturdy and durable and BLACK
These “sleeping” mask sunglasses are absolutely fantastic and are a true life saver for me. I am blind and light really sets off my migraines and these really do a fabulous job of blocking out the light. You could probably weld with these! They are sturdy and durable and usually last me about a hundred and fifty or so times of being dropped and 8-10 times of me falling asleep with them on and rolling on them before I finally break them.

Exactly what I was looking for - just a little tight
I take the train to and from work every day, and it's about 50 minutes in each direction. I leave early in the morning, and sometimes I like to nap on the train... but it's morning and the sun can get pretty bright. I was looking for something that I could use that didn't look weird, and these fit the bill perfectly. Unlike a couple of other "extra dark" sunglasses I tried, these truly block out all the light.Yes, they're not a face-hugging sleep mask, so some light creeps in through the edges, but when I put them on it blocks most of the light, and between that and closing my eyes, I can nap without a problem.Added benefit, I sometimes get migraines, and being in a dark space really helps when that happens. If I'm in a spot where that's less easy to come by, these do a great job then, too.My only complaint (and the reason for 4 vs. 5 stars) is that they're a little tight on my temples (they squeeze a bit), and because they're a single piece of heavy-duty molded plastic, they can't really be bent to be any looser.

Absolutely as described !
These are definitely as described ! You put these on and there is NO light. Wearing them works great on a plane, train, car...wherever. If you need to sleep, anywhere, put these on. No one can tell you’re totally in dream land...unless maybe you snore. Even then...the glasses did their job - total darkness. :)

Would buy again.
Does a pretty good job of blocking sunlight. Might be a little tight, but my head is a little large. But so far I am glad I purchased.

Not very effective
These do not cover all angles, allowing a pretty significant amount of light to come through the bottom which renders them almost useless when in a vehicle as glare will come through the gap.

Good idea
Bought used from Amazon Warehouse and they were broke. I love the idea. I can place the lens back in though to test. I wish they were a bit bigger to cover more area.
