Highwood AD-PORL1-ACE Lehigh Porch Swing, 5 Feet, Weathered Acorn

Swing disintegrated after one year. One piece broke off the back of the bench where it attaches to the back rest, then a few weeks later, the whole swing fell apart (see photo). Also very difficult to assemble. Overpriced Junk...

Absolutely wonderful! First they sent me a white one instead of the acorn color. I called customer service and Cyndi answered the phone! No press 1 for blah blah, she actually answered the phone. They were very apologetic, gave me a return number and fedex picked it up two days later. The correct one arrived a week later. It took about 30 min to put together (a little longer than necessary because my 2 year old was helping). For the people who complain about how difficult it is to put together, and say the screw holes don’t line up, you missed the first instruction. Don’t tighten the screws as you go, leave them all loose and tighten them all at the end. If you do that, you’ll have no problems. Great quality, great color, easy to adjust for recline and hieght. Now, if it holds up to our Arizona sun, I’ll give it 10 stars!Update 9/30/19 I said if it held up to our Phoenix Arizona sun, I would give it 10 Stars. Well, 10 Stars it is! Still looks great!

This swing is lovely in my backyard and I look forward to having it there for years without rotting like my last wooden swing did. Because of the infrequency of sitting in a swing, I think it deserves 5 stars overall, however, it was a bit of a pain to put together myself, just trying to balance the weight while putting the bolts in. I gave it 4 stars for ease of assembly for this and because one of the holes wasn't drilled all the way through. I had to break out the drill to finish the hole. Not a big deal for me, but it may be for someone else. Some of the bolts didn't seem to want to tighten all the way, so I gave it 4 stars for sturdiness. I feel like I may be tightening these often. Overall, though, it's pretty, it's comfortable, it was lightweight enough for me to move around by myself, and it's going to last years beyond what our wooden swing did out in the open. Also, the price point is fantastic.

This is a really great synthetic wood-style swinging bench. If you look on Amazon for th Leihey bench by this maker you'll find another listing with over 140 reviews & 4.5 stars average combined. The difference is the other listing doesn't offer this sage green color, otherwise they're exactly the same. There are other styles by this maker & those have great reviews too.The sage green is really pretty & blends well in the Oak treed area that we set up to take a swing. The swing was easy to assemble other than one bolt in the back we couldn't get to go in until we squirted WD40 in the bolt hole then it went in easy peasy. It's really heavy & we needed a couple of guys to carry it & hang it. If you're doing a tree hang like we did, buy some of the really heavy rated straps to go over the tree and prevent damage to it & attach the swing chains to those - this worked great to us & the straps don't move on the tree so no damage.You could put a cushion on this but we find it comfortable without, plus since ours is on a tree it's not sheltered from rain, so we're cushion free. That's why we selected a synthetic wood-look bench as it will be up year round, unprotected & we wanted something durable.So far were very happy with it.

This is a simple, comfortable swing with a classic look and style.Pros:- Assembly: This took less than an hour to assemble and hang. If you already have the hanging supports then this will be easy to complete for all skill levels.- Appearance. Ours is a bright white that looks like wood from over 5 feet away. It cleans easily, although ours is under a roof and doesn’t take direct weather/rain.- Strong enough to hold two adults and 4 small kids while swinging, without any feeling of sagging/struggle.- It’s reasonably comfortable for a hard-surface bench. The armrests aren’t great because of the design with the chains, but we can sit here for a long time and feel relaxed.Cons:- It’s expensive for a well-built plastic bench. Had I received this as a gift, I’d guess it was only $250.- The difficult part of a swing install is the ceiling brackets. Highwood doesn’t provide or recommend swing brackets. They don’t want the liability. We had to buy them separately and pay our contractor to install extra ceiling joists. The swing is easy- your headaches will begin and end with the ceiling mounting hardware and installation. Focus there before you buy!This is a reasonable value if you have a good place to mount it!

Hi, I am a custom cabinet maker and when our 20 year old wooden porch swing showed severe signs of age I decided it was time for a replacement. This time around I chose to build / buy one make of plastic material and, after much searching and reading reviews, I decided to buy one that is made by Highwood products. I don't normally write reviews but as I assembled our new swing I was deeply impressed by so many aspects of Highwood's quality that I had to let others know about my discoveries. Pros - Sturdy packaging, incredible accuracy of the fit and finish of the construction, high quality stainless steel fasteners, good instructions, and quality materials. Every screw as perfectly aligned with it's mating hole, and even the included wrench was solid steel that did not round over when used. The accuracy of the joinery is superb, in fact, I kept looking for mistakes or mis-alignment but could not find any. They included chain was a great surprise; they even put it in burlap bags so that it does not scratch the swing during transport. I'm telling you, I could not build this any better for the same price that I paid. Have you ever purchased an iPhone and were impressed by their packaging and presentation? If so, you will feel the same way about Highwood products when you open the box. This is a first class operation I'm sure. John, Nazareth, PA.

Looks like a quality product. Comfortable. It was very easy to set up and looks great. We got the 5' version, but the 4' would have been sufficient for 2 people. Comes with the chains, but not the fastener to mount it to the overhead beam. Should have bought those at the same time.

It won't ever need a sanding and a fresh coat of stain. Easy to assemble and is well made. The materials used also looks and feels good. Highly recommended.

When the porch swing our grown children gave us as a wedding gift finally wore out, we searched high and low for the perfect replacement. This beautiful swing is everything we'd hoped it would be --- comfortable, attractive and practical. With a quick swish of the hose, we can keep it clean --- no worries about fabric fading or wood rotting over time. We look forward to cuddling on our swing for many years to come.

I get a steel on the price.....but the swing is amazing, easily put together, comfortable and just the right size at 4ft.
