Excellent book for understanding mindfulness
This book by Dr. Shauna Shapiro was very helpful for me as a layman to understand how mindfulness works, and how to best apply it in my life. Very well-written and fun to read. There are lots of studies and references in the book to follow and continue your research on this vast subject. I have recommended this book to my fellow MBSR graduates.

Drs. Shapiro and Carlson are world-class experts on mindfulness, and their distillation of the relevant research is extremely clear and thorough. In addition to its value for researchers or as a college textbook, their book is very relevant for clinicians, coaches, healthcare professionals, and human resources trainers who want to offer the value of mindfulness to others, including by adapting traditional practices to modern needs and diverse populations. Last, in ways that are unusual in a book of this intellectual clarity, its pages are filled with practical suggestions for personal practice, encouragement, and heart.

This a wonderful book for anyone interested in mindfulness in general, and essential for therapists wanting to bring mindfulness into their practice. The author's clear lucid writing makes the topic easy to understand, and its deep grounding in the empirical research literature providides full confidence in what's written. A must read.

This is an excellent book that you will not want to put down. It has strongly impacted my life in a positive and beneficial way, and I am so thankful that I read it. I suggest this book to all of my friends because it is something you can implement in both your personal and professional life. I highly recommend reading this book!
