Recommended by a Neighbour & Recommended by Me :-)
My back lawn was patchy with weeds & bald sections and despite using other products and trying reseeding it wasn't taking. So I called out a lawn treatment company having had a flyer through the door, they gave it a look, said I should cut and water it more frequently and have them treat it throughout the spring & summer and maintain over the autumn and winter periods all for a monthly fee, which seemed reasonable until you added it all up and how much it cost a year.Anyway my neighbour saw the guy leaving & mentioned to me he used to do the same, but was told about Aftercut by another elderly retired neighbour whose grass looks like a bowling green and is immaculate. So I bought a pack with the inbuilt sprinkler and started to use it at the end of spring/start of summer, watering the grass regularly and cutting it weekly. It is now mid September & my lawn after 2.5 tubs of aftercut, weekly cutting & watering now has no weeds, no bald patches and granted it is not a flat green bowling green, but more like a crown green bowling green. I am well pleased with the results and for the money it has saved me on getting someone else in to do the same, but the satisfaction of looking at the lush lawn I resolved myself, well with AfterCut.

Definitely works.
It definitely works. Photos show the progress over a month. There's still a few patches but it's a huge improvement.

Spread by hand!? Only if you're Edward Spreaderhands.
Forewarning: This isn't well sealed and much of the contents spilled within the Amazon package. I opened this in my kitchen; so it was a chore to find all the tiny NPK pellets before they had a chance to stain the lino. Ergo, open the Amazon parcel outside. As for my experience; the box says it can be spread by hand and the first application made the lawn look considerably worse - like green cowhide a month in.After making my own spreader contraption from a cup, a rubber band, piece of paper and a pen to stab holes in the paper - things got a little more on track. I used a whey scoop to fill the cup and walked out from each tile - going for about 30g scoop for each 1/9th strip of my 45m² lawn; that's one-fifth of the monthly dose. So I applied it every week after each mow instead. This got the lawn back to a uniform colour pretty quick thankfully; a few weeks of the new regime of mow and sprinkle did the trick.I wouldn't bother following the watering guidelines unless you're in a heatwave. The grass seed is on the skimpy side so keeping the grass watered is only a worthwhile investment if it's being baked. I tried daily watering during the first month; not much happened (exception: water meter went slightly up). Instead, I'd say aim to apply it in periods of overcast weather with light showers. As for doing its job and thickening the lawn - it's doing it; just very, very slowly. The claims from the box are lofty compared to my results. It's thickened out the perimeter of the lawn but the center areas are struggling to thicken up - and those were the problem areas to begin with.I'm going to give it a few more weeks - I'm hopeful the last third of the box gets my back lawn to what I'd expect - but it's too soon to tell.If it goes well I might be back to post pictures.

Can't recommend buying from here
Old Stock.I've used this product before and I remember there being tiny bright-blue nutrient "beads" in it...When using this item, the beads were discoloured and grey and they did not dissolve after dousing heavily in water and heavy rain over 2 days.Over a week later and I still see the beads. My lawn does not look any thicker. Also, the box was very old and faded looking.I can only expect this is the end of last year's stock.Suggest you buy elsewhere - or a new brand altogther.

Some improvement, but there are better lawn thickeners out there
I'm on the fence about this one.Previously I have used Aftercut Patch fix to repair the lawn where my dog has burnt the grass by peeing everywhere and it was pretty great. As my garden is on a slope, I ordered this thinking I could thicken the top part of the garden which is usually a bit drier and the grass is not in as good condition. After applying this lawn thickener and covering with a wide-holed raised mesh (to prevent birds from eating the seeds and it has made very little impact.I am actually wondering whether the slight improvement is from this product of from me watering the lawn twice a day for the last two weeks!Overall, a slight improvement but I think there are better products our there.

Great
Bought this a few times now and it’s made a massive difference. I’ve always had comments about my grass but this year a lot was seeming to go patchy. Looked like a cat was maybe using it as a toilet! This has given me my grass back and filled in the patches. Really does thicken the grass up and gives it a lovely colour

Hmmm...
I'm not sure how much it's done. I used an electric lawn raker before applying. The bare patches may be a littler fuller but certainly not filled in properly. I watered it every evening with a sprinkler the first two weeks. I didn't see any new grass spouting. The grass is greener but a simple lawn feed would also do that. In future I will use separately lawn feed and grass seed.

Hasn't worked for me
I got a hand spreader to use with this, and carefully measured out the quantity. So far as I can tell I have healthy weeds and moss and very little extra grass. Now I have tried just throwing more on the worst bits and will wait to see what happens. Maybe I should have used moss and weed killer first.
