The Giver

what a great movie. Makes me want to read the book again

I just finished seeing The Giver for the second time and I realized halfway through it that the SCORE is what made this movie so powerful. I was totally enthralled during my first viewing and got totally swept away in the imagery, but the emotions that were provoked; the passionate soul stirring that I felt..... that was due to the amazing Soundtrack. The combinations and transitions are so seamless and yet you hear the song and you are back in that scene. The most intense and inspiring scenes are scored with a subtle and yet completely overwhelming power and I think this is what shows the mark of a brilliant composer. If you were moved at all during this film then I highly recommend you revisit those feelings with this Original Score soundtrack.

Lovely, just lovely. I listen to all or parts of this soundtrack daily. It has become a vital part of my meditation practices. The music is so penetrating (especially with ear buds), and evokes such emotional vibrations that I use it in meditation to praise and bless others. Simply beautiful. Thank you so much. P.S. my favorite is "First Memory" (though I use them all and have four runner ups for fav)

I was trying to get the One Republic Ordinary Human piece on a CD. I thought it would be on this CD, but was not. Not sure how to get it.

Great music

While there was 'other' music mixed into the original soundtrack I heard at the movie, this is solely soundtrack. And it does sound like a soundtrack. I found none of the expressiveness I heard in the theater particularly during the closing credits. I should have listened to the outtakes of the soundtrack before ordering it. My favorite piece is "Ordinary Human" by One Republic and it is part of the 'other' music blended into the overall soundtrack. I bought it on iTunes. So I would say, listen to this soundtrack before you order it because it may not be what you remember being drawn to in the theater. Also, there is an album available which is a collection devoted solely to the 'other' music in the movie besides the soundtrack.

Bought this cd for the soundtrack 'ordinary human' by one republic which is in the end credits only to find it isn't on the CD!! Why wouldn't you put this on when it's part of the film . Disappointed. Apart from that issue if you like the classical music that runs through the film then that's very good

Der Name Taylor Swift hat mich auf diesen Film aufmerksam gemacht. Die Musikerin / Schauspielerin ist zwar nur kurz in einer Rückblende zu sehen, doch der ganze Streifen ließ mich diese kleine "Enttäuschung" rasch verwinden. Geniale Bilder und die großartige Musik passen hervorragend zusammen. Doch auch wenn man den Film nicht kennt / nicht sieht, kann man sich von dem Soundtrack bestens durch eigene Gedanken führen lassen. Solche auch unabhängig vom Film bewegende Musik ist selten.
