Who are the workingmens alliance really? Certainly not the poor who went to Basel Switzerland!
The theological secular horror of our time. CIA Director John Brennen voted Communist. This should tell you something about the United States but you will only understand the current chaos of the US if you read the Manifesto, then read it again, and then reread the Manifesto. Annihilate all morality and all religion, establish Free Trade, Centralized all communication by the government, establish Democracy, annihilate Justice, Liberty, and Freedom all to support the New Jerusalem and monopoly of the World Market. Eliminate nationality, family and eliminate borders. Overturn and destroy the existing state of things! In the Manifesto the proletariat becomes more and more 'equalized', meaning reduced to nothing, powerlessness, silenced, in the scripted struggle. This is the real meaning behind the lie of Utopianism Marxist try to sell to people. No one person has more power than the other. You are all silenced and equalized. Think about that for two seconds and ponder the horror. Who has say in the Communist Marxist system? Only the bankers. Not even a billionaire like Trump cannot change the system in the US, so now you have some perspective your Marxist Neo Liberal professor did not give you. Marxism is based on One Totalitarian Government. Communism is a theological creation sold in a secular package to ideologues who don't read or understand Marx's theology.

Get Some Perspective
This strips communism of all the modern political rhetoric and gives a compelling look at the historical heart of the movement that is so demonized today. Marx and Engels weren't devils incarnate, they were bleeding heart optimists who dared to believe in a world where men with less aren't slaves to men with more. It's an ideology not fit for our imperfect world, but it's still nice to dream.

Product quality: excellent
5/5 for product quality: The product quality is excellent. Very well designed cover and well formatted interior. The Communist Manifesto is an interesting book with some profound insights. The Manifesto is a great introduction to the technological view of history, which is what Marx's historical materialism is based on. For Marx, the improvement of technology and the increase in productivity is what will ultimately cause the separation of society into only two classes: proletarians and bourgeoisie. Given the current debate over the rise of automation and AI, the loss of jobs due to technological advancements, and possible need to implement universal basic income, Marx's technological view of history outlined in the Manifesto is as relevant as ever. Worth a read although Marx is clearly wrong about a lot of things (e.g. his belief that all conflicts is caused by class conflicts). The book includes two translations of the Manifesto as well as Marx's speech on the question of free trade and the first section of The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte.

Portable and cheap
It's very light, which is great if you're packing it around. A very quick read, but I suspect that some readers may want the font to be larger. However, given the super low price, it was high quality.

COMRADES!
The book functions as it's supposed to: there are words on paper which can be read. However, Communism is a terrible idea, which is why I gave it one star. One must buy this book, if only to prevent others from buying it and wasting their money (or worse: becoming brainwashed).WOLVERINES!!!!

Amazon distributes propaganda
Gifted to a friend; however he was shocked to find a phone screen protector instead of a much anticipated communist manifesto, so I can only imagine that someone is walking round with a communist manifesto on the front of their phone- 10/10 would distribute communist propaganda again

Important book
An interesting and important book that i dont agree with (hence the 1 star rating) but if you want to understand the enemy then read what they've written.

Hardly Worth the Effort.
Firstly, I agree with others that this unusually brief book is not that easy to read. I have thehardback copy and at £7 for a mere twenty pages, it is a little over priced I have to say!The book is essentially about the class war between the capitalists and the labour force - the Bourgeois and Proletarians. The opening third delves into history and sets out its case for a fairer deal for the labour force. The middle sets out very briefly what Communism does and how it will work. The last third looks at various forms of socialism that has been tried in the past and why they failed.Of the eye-openers are the ownership of all properties and land by the Communist state. I presume that they would take ownership of your home and then charge you rent to live there!Abolition of inheritance – everything goes to the state!Confiscation of property owned by emigrants – that would go down well in our multi- cultural society wouldn’t it?Frankly, Communism just hates anyone who makes money off of a labour force – no matter how well they’re paid and how that income improves their lives. Not to mention of course capitalism and entrepreneurs provide the jobs we all need to make life worthwhile.Nowhere in this book does it say how the party are going raise the money needed to do all the things a normal Government needs to do. Other than expand factories, take to the countryside, and bring women into the workforce. Unfortunately, they didn’t take into consideration the technological age and the fact that factories might close or some products may fall out of fashion for lots of reasons, or that a single machine might collect potatoes in the fields and replace a hundred labourers? It’s said that this book is one of he most important written. I don’t know who said that but I won’t be taking any notice of him / her in the future and that's for sure!

One of history's most important books - whether you agree with the ideology or not
There are millions of people who regularly misquote or pour vitriol on this little book and the ideology it helped create. Given the very compact nature and the final impact the volume had, I feel it is at the very least required to read it prior to pontificating on its qualities or lack thereof - can better understand that not everyone finds the time or inclination to go for Das Kapital. The book is very compact and concise. It presents the basic elements of the authors' economic and political views first and foremost, then goes on - as somewhat understandable for a political manifesto - into how the communist party differentiates itself from various other left wing political groupings and why it is the right choice to back.It does not have the space to expound the economic theory of Marx and Engels in much detail and frankly, the general readership of the day was probably just as little interested as is the case for currently novel economic theories and today's public. One reason why I would also recommend everyone to take the half an hour's time to read the book is that many of the 'negatives' always implied or associated with communism simply have no basis in the Manifesto - i.e. they are not advocated or often not mentioned at all. As such the book can form a first step towards a better and more balanced understanding of the economic theories behind communism, as dated as they may be from today's perspective. If you then want a really first rate analysis in the next step, Heilbronner's Heilbroner Marxism - for and against is a must read (as is his The Worldly Philosophers: The Lives, Times, and Ideas of the Great Economic Thinkers (Penguin Business Library) for an overview of the development of economic thinking). It is a work of an expert rather than an ideologue, so it can point out the failures as well as the qualities in a balanced fashion. In any case, irrespective of your politics, I personally find the book should be read, if nothing else, to properly understand the real arguments, as opposed to the endlessly regurgitated half-truths and misrepresentations that are only natural for a - from a Cold War perspective - hostile ideology. Das KapitalHeilbroner Marxism - for and againstThe Worldly Philosophers: The Lives, Times, and Ideas of the Great Economic Thinkers (Penguin Business Library)

100% a good purchase
Had to briefly get an idea on the topic for an essay while I am a social scientist who doesn't like anything that's Marx. This book saved me. It's very good and contains the minimum to get you through the topic but also contains enough to give you a good insight.

Very poor standard of goods.
That's the way I received this book. Not only this if you were to open the book you'd find the entire text is incorrigible. Such a massive let down that waiting amounted to nothing.

Vital for Political and Social Thinkers
Whether you agree with what is written in it or not, you physically need this manifesto to support your argument either way. The book is only thin, as it includes an introduction from Engels and is basically the manifesto itself after that which I believe is perfect as instead of having the publishers opinion forced upon you in the form of a separate assessment, it is up to you to develop your own opinion of the content. For the price you can't complain, just be careful as the book can curl quite easily.

lovely copy
Great value for money...i had a copy of the Manifesto about twenty years ago but had to sell it in a moment of student poverty. So I decided to finally replace it and am delighted. Brand new copy for basically the price of postage...happy, very happy

Good book
Was a book I needed for my study's, but it was hard reading, had to go over certain parts again and again for it to make complete sense or sink in, goes in to great depth and is very informative, is a good book but it's not light reading.

Smaller than I expected but arrived on time
Haven't got round to reading yet but the book is smaller than I expected (both in dimensions and thickness.) The text is quite small so not particularly an easy read (but to be honest, who would buy this as an easy read!) I bought it to help with my sociology a-level and hopefully it will do so. It arrived quick so what more can you ask for?

Read it, then cross out every word and toss it away
The price for material quality of the book is very good, but i would argue that the price of £1 for this specific book is still too much by £10.Read it to know who are the thieves you are up against
