Great price point but needs better instructions.
Considering this is less than £400 and another make is going to cost you £1300. The spectrometer is a steal.Yes it's not perfect with mainly the lack of any real instructions in to how to use the unit. It took me the best part of a day to work out all the ins and outs of operating the devise. The PC software when first loaded need to be opened by a .RAR system and then when opened it still needs to be changed from Chinese to English with no hint of if you are doing the right thing.I've yet to work out how to save to PDF files but the CSV files do open up in the provided software which again has no instructions on how to get the best out of it.As for the spectrometer itself it's really well built with a nice bright display that is easy to read and once you understand how everything works is easy to use. There is an advanced section that requires a password to activate it but nowhere does it seem is the password provided with the devise and trying to contact them via the website comes up with a 403 screen. Thankfully the only thing at this point that seems to be affected is the Blutooth link to the smart phone. It just won't pair with it coming up with no PIN or password.Saying all this with it's good and bad points, am I happy with the spectrometer? The answer is a reserved yes. The manufacturers need to sort out descend instructions in English both for the devise and the software and get the password situation solved for Blutooth. Other than that once you've worked out how to operate it it's well worth the money.
