Make this in a bigger bottle!
My hairdresser rushed my blonde highlights on my medium brown hair. I was disappointed because they came out brassy. I tried to fix it by toning my entire head of hair with a wella ash toner and 20 developer. It worked on the brassy highlights but turned my cool brown base reddish brown. Some skin tones look amazing in this color but definitely not mine. I spent an entire day on YouTube trying to figure out how to fix it. Lots of things helped a little but this esalon red neutralizes blew them all away. My cool brown is back and my hair is shiny and soft. It darkened my highlights a little but for me that is an added bonus. It is a small container so next time I order I will purchase several. I just used it this morning so I can't testify to longevity of results. I'm fine with using this every time I wash if needed.

Didn’t work for me.
Unfortunately, did not see a difference in color or hue. Left in for 30 minutes and no change. Pretty disappointed and the bottle was smaller than expected.

Ok
I feel like it covers brassiness, but it can add some greenish tones.

Works well
So, my hair is dyed dark blond, which looks more like light brown, and I ordered this to tone down the copper in my hair (which is really how some grey that I have takes color). I used a whole tube on my short bob, so I doubt it would be enough for longer hair, as someone already stated. The process is not messy, the stuff is thick and has a strong professional product scent, pleasant enough to me. It did leave my hair a bit dry, I felt, but the red is definitely toned down. Not sure how long the effect will last, but I'm pleased with the result for now. In all fairness, I am waiting for their 'Tint rinse' red neutralizer to be back in stock on esalon site to try that out. Seems like a more convenient and economical option, wish it was available on Amazon. Hope this helps.

Not so great at neutralizing red
Just ok at neutralizing red. My (level 7) hair pulls really copper even with ash-toned color, and I was hoping this would cover the orangey base hues after I dyed. 10 minutes did nothing, so I used the remaining 2/3 of the tube for 30 minutes. My color deepened a bit (maybe to a level 6 or 6.5) but it didn't help much with the red. My hair did feel amazing, though, and I really like the scent--lightly cedar, which was clean and spa-like. But for getting the red out, it wasn't awesome. I ended up using Manic Panic and conditioner, and that seems to be the magic bullet.

Really happy with this product
I am really happy with this product, I am a brunette so after I bleached some highlights I used the red neutralizer to tone the red away and it worked great, the photo doesn’t make it justice looks better in person, also I did leave it on 20 minutes way longer than suggested on the bottle, my favorite part was that is a conditioner so my hair was really soft and healthy afterwards, I will definitely buy it again.

Didn't work
Medium brown hair, with a lot of brassiness. Left this on for 10 minutes in between shampoo and conditioner, it did nothing. Hair was the same brassiness as before.
