The kit you use is the stuff you have with you?
I'm sort of torn with this item, as to whether it's feasible to give it a positive review without having actually 'used it'. However, the beauty of this item is that I've carried it a ton of times since purchase and very happy with it.The specs / stats are all there to see quite how small this is, as well as the wee protective bag it comes in. It's not massively smaller than your typical 'survival bag' but seems lighter and in a more compact shape, contained in a nice bag. The shape, weight and dimensions have left me to generally just chuck this in my bag whenever I'm going on a walk that necessitates a water bottle, some snack and a water proof. It's probably overkill, for most things I'm doing, but it's nice to have there in case needed. I guess a good, non-emergency example of use was during Summer Solstice up Snowdon. Watching the sunrise with a group, one of of the members hadn't come prepared with enough warm gear and was finding the exposure, waiting for the sunrise on the summit, a littletoo much. Her survival bag gave her the warmth she needed to endure rather than having to head down. I'm by no means advocating these work to replace suitable kit / gear but it's always good to have a back up option.

Fantastic.
This is so much better than the plastic survival bags. It's tiny - almost the same diameter as a toilet roll inner tube but only 3/4 as long so it immediately saves space in your rucksack. It also only weighs 3.8oz/108g so is very lightweight.Using space technology the metalised inner reflects back up to 90% of your body heat. The waterproof stuff sack is also excellent quality and large enough to put some extra survial items in. The stuff sack is about twice as tall again so plenty of room for some mini mars bars. There's a draw string closure and toggle so there are plenty of ways you can carry/store it.The unfolded dimensions are 84"x36" or 213cmx91cm.Highly recommended.I've just noticed that the new packaging does differ from the old stock amazon photo. 3.8oz is the new weight (3.5oz on Amazon photo).UpdateOn use this tears easily to create small holes. It's not going to keep you 100% waterproof on a wet, windy night on a rocky surface. It does its job adequately and fits back in its small, durable lining really well.

Great little product
Whilst I luckily haven't had to use this product for real yet, it already looks like it will be leaps and bounds better than my previous survival bag. My last survival bag (which was about twenty years old) was a big heavy plastic item which took up tons of room in my rucksack. This one takes up a minute amount of space and is therefore for 99% of the time much more practical. As I say I haven't had to use it for real so I would rely on others comments in terms of it's practicality there, but for everyday use to put in your bag in case of emergency its worked well for me.

Small, light and durable if you cab justify the price
Ive a few of these and use this product for search and rescue. Its been used a couple of times and is much tougher than a foil blanket and smaller and lighter than a plastic survival bag.Whilst the cost is higher than the order options, if weight and size is important then this is a good option. The bag is big enough to repack with no problem. It may get some holes in if used for some time on rough ground, but it can be used a couple of times if needed.

an the rain that night it did great!!
Went down to the woods on the farm where I work, just took the bag ???? Was I cold ???? Yes did I sleep ????? Yes !!!! but for the size ,an the rain that night it did great !!!!!!!!!! If you didn't have it you would be stuffed . Good bit of kit ,an no it doesn't go back in its bag with out a fight. But for its size & cost you should have one just in case? !!! Time of test was May 23 2016 in kent . All wore was jeans shirt a light summer jacket .

Everyone who ventures into the wilds should have one.
What can I say? - When we buy such items, we all hope that we'll never need to use them in anger, So what price safety? This comes as an incredibly small package, that weighs next to nothing, and can simply be put somewhere safe in your rucksack, and then forgotten about. - You certainly won't feel any strain in carrying it!I don't think that anyone who regularly ventures out into the wilds could realistically put up any logical argument against having one of these (or similar) as part of their emergency kit.

Not cheap and can be difficult to get back in ...
Not cheap and can be difficult to get back in the bag if you have ocd and want it to look the same As when you bought it. Does keep you very warm though and can imagine it litterally being a lifesaver in the right situation
