I do not do a lot of pen or ink drawing in general, but do occasionally try to participate in things like INKTOBER. I really like that the Kuretake ZIG INKTOBER Special Set No. 2 provides a really neat combination of Brush and Fineliner pens for drawing. I am familiar with ZIG brand and have always found their products to be of a good, reliable quality. So far this set has impressed me.I am familiar with using pens like the FUDEGOKOCH and the fine line ZIG Cartoonist, but am so glad that this set includes the ZIG Cartoonist Opaque Liner, the Zig Clean Color Real Brush, and the KURETAKE BIMOJI "Cambio" Large. These are 3 pens that I probably would not have thought to purchase separately, but make for a fun exploration into different techniques used in ink drawing and illustrations or Manga drawing. I would definitely recommend giving these a try.

Out of the three pens that came in this set my favorite it the MANGAKA OPAQUE LINER. It’s the easiest to work with for me. It works like a lot of these kinds of pens, you shake it up and press down the nib to get color. The line is nice and fine and the paint is pretty opaque.The other two pens I do struggle with. For me the “brush” is way too soft and I can barely get any color out.Each of the pens are activated differently so you really have to read the fine print on the pens themselves to figure out how to get the paint to flow. My first attempt at activating them got rather messy!I will keep playing around with them because I like how bright the white is .

The instructions are minimal, but enough. The only real thing to figure out is the larger brush like pen that you have to remove the inner cap and the spacer ring before it us useful. I like the two brush like pens, they have much of the feel of a real brush but still a pen. The white you have to push the tip, like a lot of paint pens, to get the white flowing, but works well enough once it is. I really like 3 of the pens, the two brush type and the dark black one that looks a bit like the brush ones but is a rigid tip. The white and fine tipped black (which is a bit light in color for a black) are fine, but I think I'll use the other 3 more. Still, they are a nice set.

I'm looking forward to a fun and rewarding Inktober with this set of pens. I do not draw manga but this set translates nicely to so many other styles so don't feel constrained by the listing header. All of the pens are wonderful. The Fudegokochi is my favorite of the set because I really like its responsive nib. The large brush tipped one called the Bimoji Cambio does require a bit of prep before use. You just have to unscrew it, remove the yellow ring around the barrel and the yellow ink cap that's at the front end and screw it back together. I much prefer that to the more common fude pens that need to be squeezed to bring the ink to the tip. Overall, it's a wonderful set and very high quality.

Prinzipiell eine gute Auswahl an Stifttypen. Man könnte damit wirklich effektvolle Zeichnungen machen. Leider hat sich der Mangaka 01 gleich nach dem 1. Einsatz verabschiedet… Insgesamt ist der Preis zu hoch für die 5 Stifte.
