Brilliant for my sauerkraut
These are perfect for wide mouthed Mason jars and keep the cabbage under the brine. To release gas formed during fermentation, you can simply push down on the top of the weights with anything .. it essentially converts the fermentation jar into a piston/cylinder type arrangement. I had feared how I would get them out to sample the cabbage but actually they can just be flipped using a knife and lifted out by hand (wash first!) so there are zero drawbacks and lots of peace of mind - a great buy. Also being glass, they are so easy to wash.

Good items, do what is expected
Like others have reported, the price is off-putting for something that seems so simple, but they are of good quality, easy to clean and do what they are designed to do. I will probably buy more.

Still to be tested
These look as if the they will do the job as intended but I haven.t yet put them to the test.

Fits Kilner type jars as well as Ball and Mason type
They are good weights although they have no grip or handleThey fit in the neck of a standard Kilner type Jar just as well as a Ball and Mason type widemouth JarI bought them for making Sauerkraut and they save seaching around for a suitable weight or using plastic bags of brine etcOn the flip side they are a bit dear for four glass round lumps which must be cheap to makeAll the weights you see advertised are and it's probably because they are only useful for the one jobWhen it comes to jars for making sauerkraut the Ball and Mason type wide mouth ones are good but the metal lids suffer and if you have some Kilner types already they will do at least as well with the rubber seals off for the first few days

Ok but not perfect
Had to use two as they are a bit on the light side. They are also a bit narrow. I normally use marbles but I thought these ones would do a better job. Not the case. With the marbles I was able to spread the weight evenly. These ones don't cover the surroundings very well as they are substantially narrower than the jars I use, so the weight in the middle causes the sides to rise a bit. But they still do the job quite nicely.

Excellent, quality product
Excellent, good quality product. Perfect size to fit in my Kilner jars and perfect weight for holding fruit/pickles under the liquid.

Hygienic
Reluctant purchase as they are so expensive but as I couldn’t find any alternatives I bought these. These devices certainly obey the laws of gravity and keep my ferments below the surface of the brine.

Returned as found they are a bit too big for standard wide mouth jars.
They wouldn't go into the wide mouth jars, as described. So I wasn't able to use them. Returned. They had good weight to them and were good quailty, just wouldn't work in the jars.
