Not as bad as the reviews would lead you to believe
I bought this item mainly because I didn't want to spend 80 bucks for a truely bent bolt on a $100 gun. The bolt kit was easy to install and looks pretty good on the gun. You have to inlet the stock a bit but if you have even a small amount of knowledge with hand tools you shouldn't have any problems. Drilling and tapping the bolt was easy and problem free. I did not experience the problems everyone else complained about with broken bits and taps. Just use a bit of cutting oil and you're golden. Whole thing took about ten minutes to install

You get what you pay for
Pros - You get a bent bolt and you get to do it yourself. The Tap/drill bits were okay.Cons - You get 0 instructions, the washer that goes over the nub of the old bolt to hold the handle steady over the nub you get is horrendous and does not actually work. It is the wrong size and does nothing to lessen the wobble. The drill bits worked until they get to the hardened steel on the bolt and then it was pointless. No handle for the Tap.Other - The washer and screw combo are pointless as the washer does not fit. Drill a 2nd hole and tap it and use 2 screws to anchor it. Since I ran into hardened steel I had to cut the screw down to fit.

A decent kit, but not really for beginners
If you’ve never drilled and tapped steel or used a file to custom fit pieces together, then you may struggle with this kit. Mine was missing a #21 drill bit for tapping a 10-32 hole. Also, the included tap isn’t a bottom tap, (and my local store didn’t have a bottom tap) so after I tapped the hole as far as possible I used a cutoff wheel to remove the first 1/8” of the tap, making it function like a bottom tap. That kind of worked. I also used JB Weld under the handle on the final assembly to ensure zero future movement.Bottom line, buy a decent 10-32 bottom tap and a good #21 drill bit. Take your time when tapping (watch some videos on tapping a hole if your a beginner) and use lube. And plan on altering your wood stock as well, since your newly turned down handle now mashes against it.

Booo!!!
There were no reviews when I bought mine. Fist, the description is misleading. It doesn't indicate anywhere that you'll need extra tools to install this. The directions - no joke - call for you to cut off the current bolt handle, drill a hole in the bolt, thread the hole you've drilled and use the included screw to secure the bolt in place. HA!I ruined my bolt and had to buy a new one. There is enough variation between different Mosin-Nagants (91/30 is just one of them) that the bolt isn't exactly the same in terms of contour or lack of contour near where the bolt handle sticks out on it originally. In my case, even if I hadn't ruined the bolt, the fit still would not have been snug because of that contour. I even tried to file it down flat and still had trouble with a firm fit.I ended up buying a long eye relief scope and using the bolt the way it is without this useless bolt handle.Don't waste your money. ATI seems to have other decent products, but this is not one of them.

Looks jury rigged and cheesy
Bought it because it was inexpensive and I was in a hurry to get the rifle ready for deer season. Very easy to install but just looks really cheesy and jury rigged. I have an extra bolt so I will be sending it out to have it professionally reworked.

not as bad as most reviews
works great with ATI scope mount. Take your time for installation, not that hard to do but you do have to have some "garage" skills. Once installed is solid and looks good. works good an Archangle stock after some slight modifications.

Do not use 10/32 tap or drill bits supplied
I love the handle once I got it installed. The drill bits were not sharp enough to grill through the bolt and the tap is cheap as well as you need a bottom hole tap instead of a starter bit. The tap snapped off in the bolt and I had to have a machinist remove it. The handle itself is great clears for a scope as well as fits nicely on the bolt. The shipping was fast it was scheduled to come in after the first and got here the day after Christmas. All and all I give the handle itself a 5 but took points off due to the tap and all the trouble it caused.

Pro tip.
Not bad, to truly have a good seating i mild a bunch of material off the top tapped it and put in the set screw and brazed the whole thing so it doesnt move. Yes its junk if your gonna try and drill and drop the set screw. If haven't noticed every bot carrier group is not the same in shape. So its odd shape will not allow every set screw to hold the handle firmly. Thats why i had it machined. If you can machine it like me then you better buy a few large files or a bunch of sand paper.
