A blade that will instill confidence of use.
I had purchased this knife for backpacking as a small lightweight full tang fixed blade. Not thru hiking. Made from differentially heat treated 1095 It is durable and tough enough to process small firewood, battoning, cutting, carving, light chopping. It will easily make a temporary tent pole and replacement tent stake should the need arise. I have used it for food prep. and it is good for cutting cord, opening packages, meals, fabric, ect. the kydex sheath is great and so is the firesteel pocket that is attached. Tops no longer put a bare 90 degree spine on this knife, it comes coated. As for the magnesium and ferro rod combination, I will replace that with a ferro rod that performs better and carry a small striker that also performs better. The original will be put in the extra gear box, and the whistle too. The metal clip that is on the sheath is handy. Field sharpening is easily done with a small combination stone and small leather strop. Overall the knife and sheath suit my needs for multi day trips, and am happy with the purchase.

This knife is thin enough to maintain control and do some finer wood processing
I purchased this knife solely for backpacking. It is extremely light weight. The knife alone weighs 5.1 oz, with the sheath and fire starter it comes in at 8.6 oz based on my scale. This knife is thin enough to maintain control and do some finer wood processing. I've even split some smaller pieces of wood with it and the lite trekker does this well because of how thin it is. The sheath is pretty good with a very strong belt clip that rotates 360 degrees, allowing you to wear it multiple ways. Over all, great knife for backpacking or even a smaller survival knife!

Good knife
Nice knife, arrived sharp and ready to go. Comes with kydex sheath which holds the knife secure, also has a magnesium and ferrocium combination fire starter tool that is housed on the sheath. It is light weight, comfortable handle. Full tang, 1095 carbon steel with black powder coat. Made in USA, I'm happy with it.

Knife came bent & amazon wouldn't replace
The knife came bent/curved. The blade curves off to the right. This knife isn’t straight from end to end. I expect more from a tops knife. Also amazon would not replace the knife and it was within the 30 days.

felt great in hand
Bought this blade as a gift, but I held it before wrapping it, felt great in hand. The recipient thoroughly enjoys the blade!

I needed more knife and this one is it!
Being a Backpacker that enjoys Bushcrafting I have been looking for a knife light enough not to be cumbersome but still do the job. I tried going really light but found out the hard way it wasn’t near enough when you need a shelter and firewood want build fish traps and dead falls . Since I don’t carry a big saw or axe when backpacking I figured I at least needed a good knife. This is still just over line to do the job , but that’s where I wanted to be. I have beat on this knife mercilessly and it still looks and cuts like new . I took off firesteel to prevent loss and slimline knife and since sheath configures many ways it’s perfect. P.S. I also have an Esee 3 which is a great knife but for same weight and price the Trekker gives you a longer blade which does come in useful.
