Cool brewer, great coffee
I think this is a really cool and fun coffee brewer. I have known about them for years and always wanted one. This kit feels very well made. The stand is very stable and holds the round bottom flask (lower glass part) securely. The funnel fits securely into the with a rubber stopper seal. The cloth filter assembly is easy to install and use. The entire set comes apart easily and rinses out quickly. Note that if you don’t clean right after use and residues form, you might have trouble cleaning the round bottom flask. The microburner feels well made. It is easy to fill with butane. I find that I can get up to 3 brews on a single butane fill if I preheat the water. It lights easily and the flame control turns smoothly. The instructions on the box consist of 5 images that are impossible to decipher. However there are several great videos you can find on YouTube that provide easy instructions on how to use it.I am brewing using a 1:15 ratio of coffee to water with a medium grind. The brewing process only takes 5-7 minutes and the brewed coffee tastes fantastic. I love that I can brew up to 5 cups, so that I can show it off to friends and family when they visit.

Great brewer, horrible directions
At first I thought it was just me, but after reading other reviews I was happy to learn that others were having the same issue trying to figure out the directions that came with this brewer. Let me save you the trouble and hassle others have gone through… just youtube it! Now, on to the actually brewer 😁This is a great show piece for your kitchen counter or dinning room side table. Be aware that it is quite tall and will not fit on a counter under normal height cabinets. All the different glass and other pieces are quite well made for the price and the entire setup is easy to use once you figure it out. The only negative is that it does take a while to boil the water and, at least on mine, the flame control valve barely made any difference in the heat output. It was basically either on or off. Word to the wise, when filling the burner with butane, make sure to use the included little black adapter that you place over the butane can tip. If you don’t use the adapter, you’ll just end up spraying aerated butane all over your kitchen.😬Overall, this is a great setup for someone who enjoys the whole coffee experience and has extra time on their hands. This is something that is best enjoyed on a slow weekend morning, not during the week when you’re t trying to rush out the door to work. It can make a very tasty cup of coffee, but it very much depends on the quality of the bean you use and getting the right water to ground ratio along with the size of the grounds. Definitely takes a little playing with to get it right, but once you do it's a lot of fun!

Using open flame requires comprehensive directions
I am a coffee lover. I like to experience all manor of brewing and producing various types of coffee. This is something I have only heard of once so I jumped on the chance to try this. I dedicated a whole day to using this machine and it is a good thing I did because the manual for this system consists of Pictures….I am so disappointed and frustrated. I had to resort to YouTube videos. What if I had gifted this to someone? Anything worth doing is worth doing it right, especially when you are using open flame. I would have given this 5 stars if there had been a reasonable manual !! I finally created a good cup of coffee and found it quite easy to clean, especially if you do it promptly after use. This is a way of brewing for people who enjoy the whole process and ritual of brewing coffee. It is semi easy to use, brews in a timely manner and produces a good cup of coffee with good beans. The price point is more than reasonable. Would recommend

Makes tasty coffee
The media could not be loaded. I have been wanting a siphon coffee maker for a long time, and I finally got one! The directions are printed on the box. The only thing that was a little confusing was how to install the filter, but you just drop the chain down from the top, pull on it until the little hook drops below the bottom of the tube and clip it to the tube. It comes with extra filters, and they can be rinsed and reused. The little burner stove that it comes with runs on butane, and it looks and feels nice. The device took about 6 minutes to make a cup of coffee, and the coffee wasn't bitter at all. I made a bit of a mess when I took the top off to pour the coffee, but that was due to my own impatience, not the coffee siphon. This is a great little coffee maker, and I recommend it to anyone who has ever wanted a siphon coffee maker. Just make sure you keep an eye on it when you are making your cup of Joe, because if you keep the burner running when all the water has gone up the tube it could cause the lower globe to shatter. It has lots of warnings on the device and box alerting you to that

Build of good quality parts
Pros:> Build quality is good> Comes with everything you need> Comes with a wooden stirrer for those who dont like using plastic> Is functional and fun to watchCons:> doesn't come with any butane out of the box. I think this is because there are shipping restrictions on butane so I consider this acceptable. You can get any butane refill can for around $5 at walmart.> This thing is huge. It takes a fair amount of vertical space so if you plan on placing this under your cupboard, make sure you have enough space. This is pretty subjective but it was a con for me because I dont have much space.> Takes a lot time to boil - I suggest preheating or boiling your water so that the siphon will strictly focus on brewing. I think this is the only real 'con' on this list. If someone wanted to heat the water strictly with the included tank, It'll take a while, and you also need to watch out if the gas runs out during the process. Maybe start each brew by topping off the butane canister.
