Pretty nice overall
Adorable kit. The pattern book alone is valuable. The color complaints are true. Ariel's skin yarn is way too light. I ordered skin color yarn that I liked better. I had plenty of brown for moana's hair. It's really a very nice kit.

Ok for beginners
As a beginner crocheter, it’s not a bad crochet kit. The instruction booklet is pretty easy to follow, but I did have to look up some terms on YouTube. The yarn pills very easily, and there was not enough of the dark brown yarn to finish Moana’s hair so I had to give her a few purple locks. Also it appears the yarn provided is not the same as what is shown in the photos on the packaging and book. The “cream” yarn for Ariel is more of an ivory white. Overall not too bad though, it was a fun project to practice crochet and my girls loved their new dolls.

Not enough yarn
My father bought me this for Christmas and I was really excited to make it. When I started making Ariel, I realized I did not have enough cream colored yarn to finish her head. I only had enough yarn to make it to round 7 of her head. You need enough yarn to make her head and arms and I didn’t even have enough to make it to round 8 of her head.

Yarn Color for Skin Tones is Way off.
I got this at Costco, not amazon. However, it is the same product. The problem people are referrencing with the yarn... There is enough yarn, its just that the colors are atrocious. They want you to use ORANGE for moana and like a sickly white/green for Ariel. The cream is supposed to be for Moana's dress, which is why there is not enough for ariels head. I ended up buying extra yarn to use for the skin tones since they were wildly off and I'd have to get more for the other princesses anyway. The instructions are decent so far though.

Skimpy on the yarn
The patterns are cute, but do not show a gauge. The yarn provided is not enough to make a doll. I have been crocheting for 55+ years and have made many figures. I had to disappoint my 3 year old granddaughter by not finishing her Ariel before I left from a visit.
