Great deal for price!
I was lucky enough to buy more than one of these at ridiculous prices! As one of the other buyers said, when you upgrade strings and tighten the pegheads, this instrument seems to stay true in pitch all the way up the neck. You might also need to have it fitted with another bridge or insert shims under it to adjust the action. When they first arrived the tone was mellow and almost too quiet but the longer I've had these ukes, the tone has opened up. Great buy for a solid wood uke...and I've had not problems with the wood warping or separation from non-aged material.

Won't tune - Tuners and bridge are junk
Good luck if you actually want to play in tune. The friction tuners on this Uke are junk. You will never get it to stay in tune no matter how much you tighten the set screws. You can actually see the tuners move as you strum. The bridge is also junk. Two strings popped off while I was tuning. This is not a $100 - $150 Uke. It's a toy and a bad one at that.

Sweet Soprano Uke
I am sorry that the other reviewer didn't like this uke. I think it is awesome. To get the most out of this uke, you should upgrade the strings to Acquillas and tighten the tuners. The tone is wonderful for a soprano uke. The solid mahogany produces a warm crisp tone. It really in a class by itself at this price point.Highly recommended.

Finally, an instrument that isn't poorly made!
The uke is in tune with itself (adequate relative fret and bridge placement), the pegs hold their tune, the sound quality is good, and the finish is substantial enough to withstand strumming. I ordered and returned two others, each having show-stopper defects (broken tuner, gouged finish, improper string height, muddy sound, etc.).

Complete garbage
This instrument is completely unusable. The cheap friction tuners will NOT hold the strings in tune no matter how tight you have the set screws. I twisted the head off of one of the set screws, with my fingers, trying to get it tight enough to hold. The bridge is garbage as well. The A string simply pops out of its bridge slot if you get it anywhere close to pitch. There are various ways to work around that issue but I shouldn't have to hack this thing to get it in tune.Once I worked around the bridge issue and replaced the tuners with a set of Grover 9NB's, the uke will now hold tune pretty well, but it just sounds dull and lifeless. The cheap Kala that this uke was intended to replace sounds much better. This thing is firewood as far as I'm concerned.
