Very well built and doesn't overheat too much.
During my workday I develop for iOS. In doing so, I'm basically forced to use MacBook Pros, so I've used my fair share of USB-C adapters. This one is by far not only the most well build one that I've come across, it is also one of the best bang-for-your-buck adapter I've yet seen. Sure, there are some adapters that are maybe $10 cheaper, but the build quality and emmaculate unboxing experience is unparalleled by any other within this price range. It's also very portable. It does get a bit hot at times, but I generally end up using all USB-A ports, so it's unreasonable to expect that any dongle wouldn't get hot using that many of the available ports. For anyone who's wondering, all 3 USB-A ports on this adapter are powered and can each power an RGB keyboard or charge a phone. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is while it can charge tablets like an iPad, the charging speed is so slow that the tablet may not pick up on the fact that it's charging. Other than that, great adapter, and would whole heartedly recommend to anybody looking for a type C dongle.

Very useful spec-wise, not yet sure about it's stability
This is essential for any recent macbook which has only USB-C connectors - it has a good mix of all necessary ports including ethernet, and really should be a standard accessory by Apple given the price of an MBP.I knocked off a star for each of the following:a) It runs hot. Even with nothing else plugged up than as a power pass-thru. it gets hot enough to surprise when touched - not warm, hot. Not so hot that it burns though. When I first used it with a WD Passport attached to USB3 it ran even hotter. I'm a little afraid to leave it plugged in and unattended yet.b) The first time I used it, wifi would not connect. Very odd. I unplugged it (without rebooting), and wifi worked. Since it should have nothing in it that affects wifi, I can't yet decide if that was a coincidence. It's working now, as I type, with power pass-thru and wifi.I want to like and trust it, not there yet. I may try another brand with similar specs to compare.

Easy Plug and Play Hub for an on-the-go person
sI bought this product to see if it could work with my Samsung Galaxy S8 for displaying my screen on a monitor. It did just that and even more! The Hub is really durable and I've been able to toss it in my bag for the past few weeks no problem for travel. Construction is all around solid and the extra ports like the 3 USB 3.0 ports and micro SD/ Normal SD port are a great tough. I wish I had a chromebook to test this with or a Mac because I think this product would solve these laptops' issues with lack of ports and overall functionality due to how thin they are.I'd definitely recommend this product to my friends!

Runs hot, pass passthrough power works sporadically
This is a very nice looking USB-C Hub. Runs very hot which for me isn't a real issue, but the pass through power feature is now sporadic at best on my 2018 15" MBP. I use, or tried to use this as a dock for my office. Worked for a few weeks with ethernet plugged into the NIC and my phone plugged into a USB. The card reader also functions well.I now have to plug the power into one USB-C port and the hub into another USB-C port. I am disappointed as this was not what I bought this to do. Very disappointed...

Buying a second one
The other reviews are accurate in that it runs warm/hot. I use it in multiple locations with different monitors (HDMI), network, and USB without issue, daily for over a year without problems. I'm buying another so that I don't need to transfer it to locations so frequently, it works that well for me. I would recommend it to a friend.I would have given 5 stars for durability if it didn't run warm/hot, so it got 4.

My only concern is that the cable is a little bit hard and it is probably easy to be broken with frequency hard bend
This hub is small and light, seems made of high quality. I bought this hub because I have a new Macbook pro 13-inch, A1708. As Apple often requires high quality of third-party accessories, I worried that those old model hubs in market may not be compatible with my new Macbook. This product claims that they work for new Macbook model. I have tried all ports and they are working well now although I do not know if this product is durable. My only concern is that the cable is a little bit hard and it is probably easy to be broken with frequency hard bend.

Overheats and shuts down. Don't waste your time.
Hello. I had high hopes for this unit as it has all the ports I needed but the unit overheats badly and shuts down. There are 3-4 "brands" of this unit out there and they are all exactly the same. I've tried several units for the role of universal Thunderbolt 3 Dock and the only acceptable product for this purpose (stellar, really--solid in every way) is the CalDigit TS3 Plus.

gets too hot
so I love the idea of only one product to hook up my electronic life... but it gets too hot and fear it will ruin my mac - which is a few months old.
