The only draw back is putting the chalk in the holder. You need three hands. Other than that they work well. Perfect for my grandkids projects and less mess.

Not even chalk. Daughter used it and it's nothing but a greasy type crayon. Almost ruined our brand new easel chalkboard!! Had to scrub it very hard to get off the board. Took forever to come off! Completely unhappy with this!

I used these to mark a cotton t-shirt before bedazzling it. Perfect for my purposes; as promised, the chalk didn't kick up dust everywhere and the plastic holder further prevented any tracking. The chalk marks came out of the fabric easily with a little water and rubbing. I think the texture of this chalk would work well for a blackboard but not as sidewalk chalk; it's too firm. (The holder would help prevent breakage, though.) I only needed the white, but the colors are pretty.

This is a great way to keep kids occupied. The chalk broke a couple of times but I found that it was easier to just use the chalk in hand rather than with the holder.

I'm sure they're great for art drawings, but not great for a traditional chalkboard. They take effort to get off of the surface.

I use these to play on the chalkboard with my God-daughter. We love all the colors and I love the holders that keep her little hands clean. But you need to use water to get this off the chalkboard. My God-daughter always reaches for the regular chalk eraser and tries to forcefully remove the chalk. Once she learned that we have to use water and a paper towel. That led to her deciding today to clean the board without me, which led to a clogged toilet LOL!
