Eight studio album by the hugely popular British rock group. Originally released in 1967 and featuring the classic tracks 'With a Little Help From My Friends', 'Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds', 'When I'm Sixty-Four' and 'A Day in the Life', the album was lauded by critics for its innovations in production, songwriting and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for providing a musical representation of its generation and the contemporary counterculture.

Way better than the previous 'attempts'.
So much better than any previous CD release of this iconic album. I really couldn't believe the difference between this and a previous edition of the cd. It makes me wonder what on earth the sound engineeres were really qualified to do previously. They obviously didn't understand the sound of 60s music, and more crucially the music of the Beatles. Replace your copy with this superb remaster You'll be really glad you did. Great work.

Fantastic album…
The quality is not as good as the vinyl, but if you sing along at the top of your voice who cares? Nevertheless it’s still a fantastic album.

Distant, happy memories return.
Bought after watching about same on tv recently although, I do have the vinyl, but nothing to play it on. In 1973 I had an 8 track in the car and SPLHCBwas one of only 4 tapes I had and, was played a lot. I found out after a while that my girl friend at the time (who is still my wife)hated it due to the fact that her brother played it constantly whilst he was in the loft with his train set.Although I was never really a big Beatles fan (I was more The Move and, obviously later the fantastic ELO) not she loves you and all that stuff anyway, I enjoyed listening to it again (in private may I add) after some years.

A Masterpiece
53 years since the Beatles revolutionised pop/rock music with the release of this iconic album. I must be honest and admit I've never been a great fan of the Beatles or their solo work. I can appreciate the massive cultural impact they made and their contribution to the evolution of popular music is without question. I was 6 when the album was first released and in my teen years the Beatles were regarded as being a bit "naff". I had never taken time to sit down and carefully listed to Sgt Pepper- mostly put off by all the "hype" around it- after all it could NEVER be that good, could it? How wrong was I. This is an amazing piece of art. I can appreciate how mind blowing it must've been to hear this for the 1st time in 1967. The entire concept from the intriguing album cover, the lyrics published on the sleeve and of course the music and "nonsense" lyrics, strange instruments and effects. Imagining my granddad a man born in 1904 listening to this! The 50th Anniversary release with the Giles Martin stereo mix on a top end Hi Fi system is a total orgasm for the ears. At times it almost verges on those old Phase 4 Stereo demonstration records produced during the 60s with their phasing and stereo effects and tricks. This is properly considered an iconic album and certainly contender for the greatest album of all time- that of course is subjective and Miles Davis fans would certainly object. A true masterpiece and a milestone in popular culture.
